Would you use it in a sign and trade to get Shareef Abdur Rahim? Because that's what it may take.

Would I do it? Probably not, unless all other efforts to get a PF this offseason failed. However, that would be a pretty good use for the pick and I wouldn't be too upset if it happened.

SAR is a free agent. Portland should be happy to get the Nets 1st rd pick not the Clips. They can loose SAR for nothing. A potential #1 pick for a free agent S&T is way too much.

It could be the only way to get him outside the salary cap...if the MLE is less than the $5 million remaining on the Kittles TE or if the MLE is broken in two with the max available being no more than $3.7 million [an owners proposal].
Even with a salary cap of $55 million, the Nets will still be over the cap next year.

Re: Andrew Bynum..
If Rod and Ed think this kid could develop into a dominant Center, he's worth the wait. Pick him.

the whole reason i brought this up, it would be the perfect siuation, he wouldn't be pressured 2 contribute right away, and i think we could fill are PF needs threw free agency, i just dont no how much time he would get if are depth chart was Kristic/Collins/Bynum.

I think that would be a bit much to hope for. If he was as polished as Dwight we wouldn't be talking about him being available at #15.
