Andrew Bynum..
I've never seen him play but he's 7' close to 300 pounds and i think would be worth the 15th pick if we can get another pick in this years draft. If he goes to Connecticut and plays a couple years there he will practicly be the number one pick in the draft, certainly the top 5. He is straight outta Jersey, and will not feel pressured to contribute immediatly. He can be a force in the middle, the anchor of are Defense 1-2 years down the road.
"At 7’0, Bynum has the ability to take over games. He is the best pure center in the 2005 class and has tremendous size, soft hands and a nice scoring touch for a big man. He is a solid defender in the lane and controls the boards on both sides of the ball. His potential is limitless."

He averaged 21 ppg, 12 rebounds and 5 blocks.
I really would not mind trading are unprotected clippers pick for another pick this year so we could also draft Diogu. The clippers are always a late lottery team and in this deep draft we can get the same quality player.
If we can't get another pick i think we could also could solve are power forward problems threw freeagency possibly signing Marshall and evans or something.
I personally haven't seen him play, but he intrests me anyone with any insite on him ? Or do you think this project is worth the 15 pick?

Re: Andrew Bynum..
Definitely don't want to select a project with #15. The Nets pretty much have 4 rotation spots to fill, and one of those should hopefully come from #15.
Bynum should go to school. He worked out for a bunch of teams in the city yesterday. Haven't seen anything about it yet.

Re: Andrew Bynum..
i will be intrested about those workouts, but i do truely beleive 1-2-3 years down the road he will be the No. 1 pick, it would be in his best intrest to go to school, but if the nets could grab him and fill the voids signing players like Earl Watson to backup Kidd, drafting Salim, Signing Reggie evans Cheap and getting donyell marshall, he might just be worth it...
The only thing is i dont no where Collins will fall into place with his new signed contract, maybe we only sign Marshall and use Collins as a backup PF?

You have an unprotected 2006 1st round pick? If so, I would not trade that pick for anypick in this draft except #1 because that pick is going to more than likely be a lottery pick and could potentially yield the next NBA franchise center in Greg Oden.
Like it or not, you guys are probably rebuilding on the fly like Indiana with the core being RJ and Kristic.

Re: Andrew Bynum..
even if the clippers are a late lotto pick, it would still be just as valueble for this years 15th pick because this draft is deep.

Re: Andrew Bynum..
Andrew Bynum is 17 years old. He will turn 18 in October. You want to put a 17 year old on an NBA team? He is more than a project. He would play less than Darko. He plays the same position as Krstic, who averaged 18 and 8 against Shaq.
Salim Stoudamire on the other hand was measured last week at 5'11" and crashed in the Final Four.

The point is that in the Illinois game, Deron Williams, the kind of guard Stoudamire would face in the NBA--tall, strong, quick, shut him down. He couldn't get his shot off cleanly. Plus, he has a bad attitude.

Re: Andrew Bynum..
Here's an article on the Bynum workout:
http://www.courant.com/sports/colleg...nes-sports-top
Quote:
The drills focused on Bynum's low-post moves and mid-range jump shot. The inside portion showed Bynum's immense potential, with solid ball-handling and strong moves to the basket off the left block. The outside portion showed Bynum's immense room to grow.
He did not shoot well, making about 33 percent from 15-18 feet, his jumper often flattening out.
"This is the first time I've seen him, and he didn't do anything to hurt himself," said a scout for a Western Conference lottery team who asked not to be identified. "I would say everything he did was very positive. He showed plenty of skills. He showed good footwork. We all know he has good size. That's why everybody's here. He made some nice moves inside. Although he didn't do a lot of it, you can tell he can shoot it. The rest of it is all potential."

Re: Andrew Bynum..
nice article find. I still think he might be a good investment, he has excellent footwork which is not what you would expect in a 7' 280 player.

Well put. I couldn't agree more. Any time you have a chance to get a top pick you don't just give it away. If you can do it while already being a contender, even better. This is the formula for a dynasty.
The Clippers pick might not be very valuable, but the huge upside is worth the moderate risk of holding on to the pick.

More on the workout, by a Courant sports columnist...less positive.

Also note this: He turns 18 in October. If he pulls out of the draft this year and the NBA establishes an age limitation, he will not be e | |
