sign olowokandi?
Hoopshype says that olowokandi's agent may ask for a release or a buyout if the celtics are not going to use him in the rotation. Maybe he'd be a good pickup for cheap if he becomes available. I know he's a disappointment but he has put up decent rebounding and blocked shot numbers in the past. with collins hurt and lack of backup bigmen, he could be an option

He would be worth looking at. I feel like he always put up decent numbers against us. Good Collins insurance which may enable Collins time to heal more.

Re: sign olowokandi?
He's a big body yes but he never puts any effort into playing. We need an energetic defensive minded player. Kandi is a retard. I'd rather have some young guy from the NBDL who wants to prove something over this moron.

Like Kaniel Dickens who led the CBA in ppg and rpg last season then came to sit on our bench?
The fact he will be a free agent playing along with Kidd, VC, and RJ makes me think motivation may not be a problem. If he can put up 6/5 against NBA big men in 20 mpg he could help as Collins insurance.

Re: sign olowokandi?
the fact of the matter is we have trouble with all star big men. elton brand, dirk, and pau mauled us on our road trips. kandi man may be lazy but he's a healthy big body. cliff robinson has done great things for us but he's old and shouldn't be allowed to be the only healthy big man on the team. collins has been injured all year. we;ve been losing these games by 12-13 pts for the most part. if we can just slow down the opposing teams big men, i don't see why we wouldnt have a shot at winning the game or being more competitive. so kandi man for a cheap one year deal is worth it even if he hasn't lived up to expectations in the league.

Re: sign olowokandi?
It is a sad, sad state of Nets' frontcourt affairs when I am forced to say, yes, I would have to recommend the signing of Kandiman to a Vets' Min contract for the rest of the season, should Celts release him.

yea you hit the nail right on the head! He isn't a good fit for us... but NJ is the place for a New start!
Kidd-Wife Beater
VC-Gave up in toronto
Childs-Weight problems and health problems but the nets took a chance
Eddie Griffen-Lots of peroblems but also lots of potential
Cliffy-Drug problems (suspened 5 games for violationg drug policy)
Jeff McInnis-New chance to start over in NJ
Murry-Same as Jeff and Vince
and i think the list goes on.....
so giving candy man another chance might be good but it might also bite us in the ***. But we shouldn't take on his current contract. We should try to get him cheap!

I would rather have someone hungry plain and simple, more in the line of a Marcus Fizer or someone who's actually had some NBA experience. He played with the MVP of the league and went to the WC finals and that didn't elevate his game or change his lackluster effort. Kandi off the bench is a waste fo a roster spot even for the minimum. We have guys in Jackson and Johnson who haven't even been able to get on the court and MJax is twice the center Olowakandi is! Kandi's just gonna waltz in here and get 10 mins per in Franks system where you earn your minutes in practice? He isn't motivated to play and can hardly grasp boxing out or the simplest pick and rolls so other than just being a 7 foot lummox I don't get whats so appealing about him. I've watched countless Timberwolves games thanks to my best bud being a big KG fan and the only good performances he has seem to be against us! He's in a contract year and he loses his starting spot! That's not a trait you want in a player for our squad. Frank and Casey are both defense oriented coaches. We have enough defficiencies that he will only compound or problems even more. MJax and Linton might not be great players but i've seen nothing short of them trying their butts off when they get on the court something I haven't seen Kandi remotely do since he was in his last year with the Clips where his numers were inflated because of being on an awful team.
Here's my buddy and I on aim:
Me(12:22:06 PM): Hey do me a quick favor. In 2 sentences or less, please sum up what Olowakandi brought to the Wolves.
Him(12:24:00 PM): unnecesary fouls, a horrible unefficient hookshot, 7 feet of 2 rebounds a game, no hustle, no passion... and if kevin garnett can't hype him up to play hard NOBODY CAN!
Him(12:24:23 PM): -#1 timberwolves fan
I just can't say enough, No!

I think these are bad comparisons because none of these guys continually sucked and had one good year...
Kidd- Who had one incident his entire career was still top PG in the league at the time.
VC- Uninspired on a losing team and was still a great player.
Childs- Had something to prove to stay in the league. Energy guy, was a more than servicable player when we sucked.
Eddie Griffin- Didn't even playfor us.
Cliffy- Smoked some weed, big deal. Always a solid contributor.
Jeff McInnis- High energy fast break guy who we all knew was bad at D.
Murray- Has just been a complainer always a solid contributor when given mins.
Kandi is just a completely uninspired player. He picked up a ball right before he got to Pacific becasue he was tall. His play and effort has never shown anything more than wanting to get a paycheck for being tall. He probbaly won't even sign for the minimum because he's not trying to prove that he still belongs in the NBA. The first decent deal he gets he's taking.
