Rivalries are for teenagers. The Nets should only be concerned about themselves. If they are focused, then they can beat any team.

Some heat fans are still living in the past and don't seem to accept whats happening right now. Their team record is misleading so as the Nets who i think are much better than what their records says but Miami is obivously worse than what their record shows. 1-9 against division leaders proves my point.

Rivalries are the best. It gives basketball and the sports world a little more spice. Like the 03 playoffs. When Collins knocked down fugazy Thomas. It gives the fan more of a edge to watch the game

I'm a stat guy, not a psychologist! Besides I went to a Div III school. Heck of a rivalry we had with Hobart.

You would think a team that beat both the Heat and the Pistons would get more respect but nooooooo its hate hate hate.

well since we have a better team and can compete with the heat i think there is a nets-heat rivalry in a way. its not like a few years nets-celtics or nets-pistons, but its in the early stages. it would be more of a rivalry if the heat didnt dismantle their team, but last years sweep started something and with us winning one in miami and one in jersey its starting to build that this isnt a one-sided affair. the next step is for us to either win a series if we meet or get it to a g6 or g7. we just need our role players to be consistant because even if miami doesnt play as a team they have talent who can make some 3's and some plays from time to time which can keep miami in the game then shaq and wade can take over and extend. as long as we play as a team we will be good.

Most of us here are just rooting for our team and are expressing our opinions. Yet all of your posts regarding the nets has a bitterness towards nets fans as if we're morons for believing in our team. What's wrong with having faith in your team? You take this stuff too personal and take the bashing too far. Again, be civil, there are a few people here that are being rude but again they are a few. No need to be hateful and direct it towards a greater group.

actually, i think that was my disgusting argument. but to compare zo to ken lay: there's a big difference between a) giving a small fraction of your wealth to charity in order to boost your corporate image and avoid paying taxes while you rip off thousands of people and plunge whole states into energy crises and b) giving a much larger portion of what you make to charity while being a complete ******** in the world of basketball, which in the larger scheme of things, isn't really (gasp) all that important.

i guess what i'm saying is that, for me, the good from zo's sizable charitable donations and the boost he's given to the national kidney foundation far outwiegh his admittedly disgusting and disturbing nba antics .

I strongly believe that for ZerO, giving to charity is all about building and retaining his own image, nothing more. Why does he only give to charities located in the Miami area? Why does he have to be in Miami personally to manage these charitable organizations? He has people to do that.

If I may spread my thoughts on this...

I was one of the Heat's biggest critics when they made the biggest trade in NBA history, getting a slew of players and getting more guys who would like to have the ball in their hands. Simply put, I felt that Walker, J-Will, and Posey was not a good fit for a team who already had Wade and Shaq. While I thought that Posey would be a great addition for that team, I felt that would be negated by J-Will and Walker.
