JR Smith????
Waht happened? I thought he was pretty good and he doesn't even get real minutes. I wouldn't mind a tandom of Wright and Smith off the bench for that offensive punch. Speaking of Wright he looked alot comfortable out there. Running the floor, playing D, and drivng down the lane and kicking it to a open Robinson for the jumper. That's what we need off the bench, fastbreak points. Back to Smith could a trade of Zoran and MJax for him. I don't want a talent like that go to waste.

Marv and Jackson suggested Scott benched him for his lack of effort.

Re: JR Smith????
Which is disappointing because he had a very, very good rookie season, and he seemed to be on track to become a good pro.
He needs to remember what got him where he is - tireless work ethic, relentless hustle - and do that again.
Nobody's questioned his offense - it's his defense that he needs to focus on. Smith and Paul has the potential to be a very good backcourt in the East for years.

Yeah, he's been in Scott's doghouse for quite awhile now. He was starting early in the season but somewhere along the line he got on Scott's bad side and that probably had something to do with effort in practice. I'm sure he'll get another chance to shine again but who knows when.

Not in the East anymore. Supposedly he's benched for his lack of effort and not playing defense. Snyder has been offering a bit more so that's who Scott has been going with.

So Wright played solid defense?? Furnace just said he didn't...which one is it?? can I get some more confirmation because obviously there's a difference in opinion (although Furnace should take off his McInnis hating glasses...he prolly was wearing them when Wright was playing )

I've been watching Smith's minutes as the season started until now. He started out getting solid minutes, around 30-35 a night and scoring at a 14ppg pop. Then he started to struggle. Snyder eventually kept pushing for his spot. Smith probably lost confidence in himself, leading to his hustle lacking and other things. As a result, Smith is now getting garbage minutes or DNP's while Snyder puts up solid numbers...

He's still a bit immature. I think he got the idea in his head that the 2spot was his no matter what. I guess he was wrong. December 31st was the last time he started, other than the Atlanta game 1/7 where Paul sat out Smith got to start that game. Now he's just getting garbage time. Don't know how long it will last.

I was sitting next to Furnace at the game. We watched Kirk Snyder blow by him and watched as he missed a rotation.

Re: JR Smith????
It seems to me that the Hornets have to get something positive out of Smith if they are really serious about this season. No matter what he's still a guy with talent and it's not like the Hornets have more of that than they can use.
Of course Claxton is the third best player on the team(on his good nights he's better than that) so Smith is competing with him and Snyder for backcourt minutes.Paul is going to play 35 minutes plus so you basically have 61 minutes to divide between Snyder and Claxton now.
