SI 4/3/06 Issue: Scout's Take on Nenad

At page 136:

"Other than the foul trouble he gets into -- which is common among young guys -- he doesn't make a lot of mistakes. He can shoot from the outside, post up and rebound, and he's a good screener, which is a dying art among big men. I always wonder why they aren't playing at a faster pace, because Krstic would be good trailing behind Vince Carter, Richard Jefferson, and Jason Kidd on the break. But Lawrence Frank is a controlling coach, and when you see how other teams are moving to up-tempo basketball, it makes me question whether the rest of the league is passing [Frank] by."

I think the SI articles are written well in advance of publication. Hence, this scout may not have taken in the recent victories.

The first two sentences are fine. The last two seem a bit inane. Perhaps, it reflects a dated perspective. In any case, I don't see Krstic as much of a trailer on the break. As for up-tempo basketball, the NETS are playing enough right now. Maybe the guy's got a gripe against Frank.

Krle as a trailer? I mean if that's all Frank had to worry about, his life would be peaches and cream. Good God. Luckily that "scout" doesnt work for the Nets.

If you get a chance on ESPN they had the recap of the game then went into a bit on the Nets. Was nice to see they said Nets had a chance to stop a Heat Pistons rematch. But getting back on topic...they had a highlight real of Krstic I was like wow you don't realize how good he is sometimes unless you put together a bunch of his stuff. In only his second season the sky really is the limit.
