So I guess the Vince of Toronto was better pre injuries.

Hahaha! you got that right PHeNoM.

Re: How much better was Vince in Toronto?
Vince is a smarter and a more unselfish player now. Back in his toronto days, he was absolutely crazy when it came to dunking and scoring and just dominating games. He didn't play that much defense but really carried the team. In my opinion, I'd rather have the unselfish Vince of today because he can play with his team better. We've seen TMac fail in Orlando because he had no help as well as Kobe this year, it's tough to win a title with just one good teammate. MJ has a super teammate in Scottie and was able to get it done. I think the nets will be way better next year. There's a trend in the NBA today, the longer a good core stays together the better they play (San Antonio, Detroit). Going back to Vince, though he isn't as athletic or spry before the injuries, he still has it in him and can take over a game whenever the situation arises. He's a smarter player and still has that MJ ability to take over in him, add that to JKidd, RJ and Nenad and this team looks awesome. Vince learning the value of team ball has resurrected his career.

Re: How much better was Vince in Toronto?
I prefer the Nets version of Carter. He's much more balanced. I don't think this is even a question if you ask me...
It's like asking,"who's better? The Dwayne Wade who hits the deck every 3 trips down the floor or the Wade who has more balance in his shot selection?"
Carter, offensively,is just deadly nowadays, though I do agree with AirFly that his mid-range jumper from Toronto was deadly and is thorougly missed. That 2001 Carter...WOW!
But the thing that shows how much deadlier he is with the Nets: Mike James just broke the raptor record for most consecutive games with 30 points. I think it was 4 games,I think.
That means,in a raptor uniform,Carter has never had 30 or more in 4 straight games, and this is on a team where he supposedly had to "hog the ball" and take it upon himself(Though I still think Carter was very unselfish in T.O). While,if you look at Carter's time in Jersey, last year,Carter had 40 or more in 3 straight games if I remember correctly.

Re: How much better was Vince in Toronto?
I'll tell you what. JKidd in his prime teaming up w/ VC in his 3rd yr just before the injuries started taking their toll on him would be such a devastating & amazing combo. The VC that was a better finisher would totally complement Kidd so much better. 5 yrs ago both were top 10 in the league. Maybe even top 5. They would have won the ship. I could only salivate @ the mere thought.
