Anthony Johnson was not a "quality backup"
I am getting so sick and tired about hearing about how the Nets made a mistake in letting Anthony Johnson go. Any Nets fan knows that he was the most pathetic excuse for a backup point guard that anyone had ever seen. The six minutes in which he would sub for Kidd would be the most painful moments of every game. To put it plainly, Anthony Johnson SUCKED. He was nothing but a fat, slow piece of **** and there was no consideration for him to return why? BECAUSE HE WAS THAT BAD. They DESPERATELY needed to replace him.
Jason Kidd has throroughly embarassed himself and is playing his own team out of the playoffs. He is getting eaten alive by a backup point guard who was a painful thing to watch on his own team. I don't know what else to say.

Re: Anthony Johnson was not a "quality backup"
okaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaay
let's do this
compar A johnson stats from the last three years
to zoran childs vaguan MC and all the other point guards who we tried to replace him with
after that would you like something to drink while you eat those words.
be honest you would love to have a johnson on your team. i know i would. don't be blinded because he not wearing a nets uniform to his talent.
if zoran put up half the numbers he does you would be screaming to re sign him

I mentioned to my mom the other day how people call him Beetlejuice and she was like "Oh, that is horrible...." (then looked at him) "....well, he kind of does"

We send out a big 'Thank You' to Byron Scott for under-valuing and under-using Anthony Johnson, and to Rod Thorn for going alomg with Byron.
And another 'Thank You' to Byron for misjudging Stephen Jackson's potential, and Rod for going along with Scott.
I've been complaining about letting AJ go ever since it happened.

Re: Anthony Johnson was not a "quality backup"
haha The ONLY thing AJ was good for when he was here was for comedic purposes(his looks) and occasional 'pressure' defense. I'm glad he's doing good in Indy, but to say letting this guy go was a mistake is ridiculous(notice, 3 years later, now its being called a mistake), Rod Thorn is a GM not a phsycic people.

Hey, it's true, the man isn't a quality backup PG. He does seem to be a quality starting PG though.

Again, knew it was a mistake as soon as AJ was let go, and have not been shy about stating that fact from the moment it happened.
It was Byron's mistake, and Rod wasn't paying close enough attention.
