We could have used Marc Jackson's 6 hard fouls in the Heat series!

The Net's could have used the services of Marc Jackson in this series. He wasn't intimidated of SHAQ. He even welcomed the challenge of guarding SHAQ.

We could have used his six hard fouls against him. Instead we traded him for Nachbar, who is currently inactive, and would make no difference in this series.

I still think that Thorn should have traded Marc in the off season instead of the middle of the season.
We could have good qualifying offers in need of a big guy. Draft picks and Marc to move up in the draft.

MJax was a huge liability and not worth $6M. Nor do I think he would make much of a difference on Shaq. I prefer John Thomas better defense and 6 fouls at $250,000 to MJax who was a clubhouse complainer at the beginning of the season.

Exactly.

(They signed him with like 2 games left in the season and left him on the playoff roster.)

And that did a lot of good against the Nets this year (nothing wrong with a little friendly trash talking)

it's ridiculous how you're underestimating Collins' defense after the good job he did on Shaq in the regular season. The Heat may have dominated the paint in the regular season, but not against the Nets.

The Heat bigs dominated the Nets during the season on their way to a 1-3 record. Not to mention, Twin was missing one game and Nenad another.

Thomas is there to simply send Shaq to the foul line and emergency duty if the other bigs get in foul trouble.

Twin's tremendous defense is the reason Shaquita is filling up the newspapers this morning.

i only mentioned one aspect of the game. the paint. Heat will dominate in the playoffs in the post just like they did Chicago. Collins might`ve been descent, but NJ dont have enough meat down low to throw at Shaq/Zo/Haslem

The Bulls have the weakest frontcourt in the NBA. And Cliffy and Twin are WAY better post defenders than anyone on Chicago. And no one on the Heat can guard Krstic.

Heat better hope they dominate the paint because if Shaq is off, it could be a very short series.

Re: We could have used Marc Jackson's 6 hard fouls in the Heat series!

Nets:
Jason Collins
Cliff Robinson
Nenad Kristic
John Thomas
Scott Padgett (pushing it)

Heat:
Shaq O'Neal
Zo Mourning
Udonis Haslem
Michael Doleac
Antoine Walker
Earl Barron
Wayne Simien

I don't know if Wayne and Earl are on the Playoff roster (a little help if someone does), but based just on bigs alone, we need a full team effort on defense and rebounds.

RJ VC and Kidd are among the best rebounding wing players on the wings. This will be a fun series.

May the best team win.

Agreed. Shaq better play like the old Shaq or i see the Nets taking this series in 5 games.I just don't know how shaq is going to guard Kristic? Kristic's jumper now from 15-18 feet is almost automatic. I am also encouraging Frank to use Rj a lot in the opening quarter, isolate him, and let him drive. If Shaq comes to help, he has to foul and hopefully after few plays he'll be in foul trouble.

Haslem will guard Krstic. And without a dominant Shaq, 5 games souds right.
