Haha.
I tried to craft some sort of response, but it's impossible.
I guess my advice to anyone would be to read each point and understand the opposite is true.

Re: Renaldo Balkman could be the next Rodman or Artest
What the heck, I'll give this a try.
I know everyone thinks that the Knicks made a mistake Yes.
, but seriously Ronaldo Balkman does have the skills of a Ron Artest and Denise Rodman. No.
I've seen some video on him, and he hustles like crazy. OK.
He's raw, but in a couple of years, he could be the next Rodman if he works on his game. No.
Isiah knows his draft. Debatable
When he drafted David Lee, no one knew who he was. Absurd.
Then when he played for the Knicks, David Lee wooed everyone. Not really.
Phoenix and Dallas were interested in Balkman Ridiculous.
If these two teams were interested in him, then we could all assume that he could very well be the next Ron Artest and Denise Rodman. Ludicrous.
I can't wait to see him in the preseason. Can't dispute that.
I want to see what all the hype is about in this kid. OK.
Do you think Thorn would draft him, if we had the Knicks pick? ****, no.

Re: Renaldo Balkman could be the next Rodman or Artest
The one thing Isiah has been successful with is the draft. Like I said if Mardy Collins had been taken before Blackman, this fuss wouldnt be so bad. It would be the exact same draft, cept backwards. From what have seen of Blackman he is a high energy hustle type player. Thats exactly what they need on that Knicks team.

Jees, this kid makes it sound like David Lee is Gods gift to the NBA. He wasn't that great last year. Scalabrine without the jumper.

Look at this game.

He had a monster game over Alabama.
28 pts, 7 offensive rebounds. Is this a person who sucks? Alabama is a good team. He dominated man. Do you still think he sucks?

Like I said before, if he had picked Collins over Marcus he would have been just as stupid.
And he'd be taking just as much flack as he is now.

Re: Renaldo Balkman could be the next Rodman or Artest
^But whats wrong with Collins and Balkman in the 20s. They dont need finesse type players, and they certainly dont need any more offensive thinking players. Now think about all the guys that went after 20 and how many of them would give them the hustle and defense they were looking for.

Re: Renaldo Balkman could be the next Rodman or Artest
Chad Ford's Draft Report Card:
Quote:
Analysis: From 1995 to 2004, the Knicks were the worst drafting team in the NBA, according to our John Hollinger. Isiah Thomas did a pretty good job of reversing course the last two years, but took two major steps backwards this year.
I understand why Thomas likes Renaldo Balkman -- he's the anti-Knick. He's a hard working, blue-collar athlete who scraps and fights for everything he gets. He doesn't want to shoot 20 times a game and doesn't have a 40-man entourage whispering in his ear about how great he is.
But I just don't think Balkman has the talent to warrant a first-round selection. He might have the right attitude, but I can't see him as anything more than a marginal role player in the NBA.
Given who was on the board when Thomas selected Balkman -- including Marcus Williams, Rajon Rondo and Shannon Brown -- I think this was a wasted pick.
The Knicks' second first-rounder was better -- sort of. Mardy Collins is a big combo guard who knows how to play. But his lack of athleticism and shaky jumper combined with the fact that the Knicks already have four combo guards on their roster means that he's unlikely to contribute much.
James Dolan said in a press conference this week that Isiah had a year to turn the Knicks around or he would be fired. I wonder if Isiah just moved up the timetable on his exit.

Collins was a good pick at 29, he's about as good as you can expect at that spot and he filled a need.
Hustle and defense is something you can get fairly easily.
The draft is for collecting talent. That's what's hard to come by.
