His problem has and always will be that he's not a leader. He may do and say some leaderish things occasionally but he just doesn't command that leadership respect because he was handed the moniker more than earned it from his teammates. I think as a piece to a bigger puzzle where he doesn't have to shoulder that burdeon he'd be the 4/5 we've been looking for. Kidd firmly holds down the leader role on this team but can share the spotlight at the same time and it could be a perfect fit for him.
He's frail, but then again so was Vince before he got here, so ya never know. His contract is a beast but if we were able to stay a competetitive team and get a guy of that caliber then I think Rod would look real hard at that trade.
