How would you fix the team?
I'm just curious in how people view our weaknesses, and people's creativity.
Personally, I would start by drafting Antoine Wright for a second round draft pick in this draft. I think this is feasable, considering he could still produce for a team, just not in this system. Also when RJ gets back he's never going to see playing time with Nachbar playing like he is. Its time to cut our losses, and I feel comfortable getting rid of Wright with how Hassan Adams might play out.
Second, I draft Corey Brewer with our (as of today) 11th overall pick. But Jigga, you're an idiot to draft a swing guy! HOOOOLD your horses people and let me explain: Corey Brewer is a great all around player. He can score efficiently, has excellent defense, and has great potential to play the 3 position being 6 foot 9 (also eventually playing a small-ball 4 if he bulks up). This is a player who continually fills out the stat line for Florida. Also this is hypothetically feasible since Draft Express has him available at that pick.
Third, I use the draft pick gained by Wright to draft Glenn Davis. We need physicality down low. We need mass, we need scoring. Thats what he brings to the table, and he already has a decent jumper. Considering how we run our offense through our bigs using jump shots (krstic, moore, robinson) he be VERY productive to this team. Plus he's friggin huge, he'll be great at "setting picks," "blocking out people so kidd can get rebounds," and any other reason why you would like collins.
Thats a complete draft, in my opinion. Corey Brewer and Nachbar are players that can fit in the 3/4 rotation (with more 4 time being used by Nachbar). I think Brewer has ridiculous upside, but for those who don't feel comfortable having two similar players on the roster, I would do the above scenario but draft Acie Law instead. Yes he's from A&M, but he's 6'6" shooter that has a competitive edge that "that other guy from A&M" hasn't shown.
So...
Kidd / Williams
Carter (resign him) / House / Adams
Jefferson / Brewer / Nachbar
Davis / Moore / Nachbar
Krstic / Collins
DNP (coaches decision): edit: bernardRobinson, Boone
I assume edit: CliffRobinson retires.
Damn fine team if you ask me.

Re: How would you fix the team?
Starting PF with a 2nd round pick, I guess on this PFless team anything could happen. I would love to see Brewer here, does everything well, athletic wiry, able to create, for himself and others.

Re: How would you fix the team?
Paul Millsap is a 2nd rounder.
I wouldn't just look at us playing a 2nd rounder in a starting position (considering we do right now with Adams), but rather at the individual. Getting glenn davis with a 2nd rounder would be huge and I believe a starter on this team

Re: How would you fix the team?
ahhh but what do you people think? Good ideas, horrible ideas? I'm pretty convinced this is exactly what this team should do, and im curious to see how other people would take this current team turn it into their dream version. Trade whoever, draft whoever, just keep it realistic (relatively).

Re: How would you fix the team?
Yea, well Adams is forced into the role, with RJ and Wright out. But hey it's a 2nd rounder, he doesn't even get drafted in nbadraft.net at this point.

****ty idea.
Got to tear this team up, and build around the young core of Williams, Adams, Jeferson, Boki, Boone.

Re: How would you fix the team?
Nbadraft.net currently has the nets with a 2nd round pick that we lost to get Robinson so I would take their opinion with a grain of salt.
Boone fan I'm curious to know what you would do in detail. Lets say you rebuild around Williams, Adams, Jefferson, boki and boone, how would you go about doing this? People always give their 2 cents about who should stay and who should go but don't always paint a complete picture of how their version of the nets team would look. I guess you could say this is putting money where your mouth is and actually saying how the whole team would pan out.

You don't build around role players, so take Boone and Adams out of that list. RJ, Krstic and Williams, now that's a solid core to build around.

Re: How would you fix the team?
I would trade Kidd to the Lakers for Walton, Farmer, Draft pick.
I would try and Sign and Trade VC to the Magic for Darko, and a Draft pick.
I would also trade Collins for a draft pick or something.
PG Williams/ Farmer
SG Waltton/ Boki/Adams
SF Jeferson/ Boki
PF Darko/ Boone/ Draft pick
C Kristic/ Moore/ Boone

Re: How would you fix the team?
in the offseason...
resign carter to 4 years, 60 million, with the fourth year being a TEAM option
trade Jefferson, Krstic, and Boone on draft night for Gasol, Dahntay Jones, and Chucky Atkins and their second rounder.
Resign House and Moore
Use the MLE on Morris Peterson
Trade Collins, first round pick next season, and antoine wright for a resigned Jamaal Magloire (3 years, 20 million, third year team option)
Kidd/Williams/Atkins
Carter/House/Jones
Peterson/Adams
Gasol/Nachbar/Cliff
Magloire/Moore
this, however, will never happen and is a pipedream. This would solve many problems, mainly the PF position and it would give us another solid center in Magloire and a solid backup in Moore.

My only problem with starting over like this is having two (current) rookies run our team. Each has good potential, but neither is ready yet. Keep Williams, or Farmar, but not both.
