Re: Dear Rod,
what?!
just look at how rj attacks the basket... and then compare it to vince carter's limpy lay-ups.
then watch both players on the defensive end.
finally, pay close attention to their body language... see who has the poise of a fighter.
i'd choose a healthy rj over vc anytime. rj has more playoffs experience. he has the desire to win. vc does not.

The point is there though. Love or hate Vince, Nets fans knew he was their main weapon in the playoffs, and their best chance at going deep. Now everyone is upset and looking for someone to blame.
Blame the weakest front court in the league for starters. Im by no means a Vince fan, in fact, I plain dont like the guy, but this is ridiculous.

Re: Dear Rod,
Only THIS NETS FORUM would think RJ is better than VC....hahaha!!!
comparing Career 24 PPG player (VC) to a 16 Career PPG (RJ) who has played along side Kidd his whole career.
Pleaseeeee...theres no comparison to start with...RJ is NOTHING compared to VC offensively.. Nobody in the league even mentions RJ. Its only THIS FORUM.

Ill admit, RJ is a much better defender than Vince, and he has that "sparkplug" type of aura around him.
But I agree. This forum almost seems insane to me sometimes. When RJ isnt playing good theres "Trade RJ" threads left and right. Guy puts together a half decent playoffs, and now hes more important to the team than Vince? RJ did not out play Vince in the playoffs.
Look, I understand fans are angry, and rightfully so, but calm down, get your whits about you and post tomorrow once you cool off. Then maybe you'll realise how crazy this is.

You're right and it is ridiculous. We're getting krstic back next year, a full year of Moore in our rotation, and an improved Josh boone. Keep the team together.
All in all I'm glad that people arguing over beliefs on this board stay here, and are never going to be significant factors in helping a GM decide the outcome of a team.
I have faith in this world that GM's do not make franchise-changing decisions based on one game, like people on this board do.

Re: Dear Rod,
Honestly w/o bias. RJ has much more value than Vince. RJ can fit in almost any team, is solid on D, runs the floor, doesnt over dribble, ad is younger. Vince is the better player, but if your calling a team for a big theyre gonna want RJ unless its the Bobcats and they want to sell tickets

Cant say I agree. If I'm the Pacers and you call and offer me Vince for JO straight up, I talk to the rest of management, and unless a better offer is on the table, I pull the trigger without hesitation.
If the Nets call up and say RJ for JO, straight up. I dont even laugh, I hang up the phone, then I laugh.
Same for KG except it would obviously have to be something like Vince, Nenad and a pick instead. But switch RJ with Vince in that deal, and once again, you have another GM laughing in the Nets face.

Re: Dear Rod,
I don't think Thorn should completely blow it up.. It wasn't to long ago that people on this board were saying the Nets would miss the playoffs or get destroyed completely in the playoffs by an elite.. But here they are again.. they passed the 1st round and has given an EC elite all they can handle in the 2nd round.. In the same position as last year minus there starting center..
If some of you guys would calm down and look at what was the Nets season in perspective, i'd say getting to the 2nd round was a decent accomplishment.. Everyone wanted to head to the ECF.. But eventually the fairytale (or nightmare) had to come to an end sometime.. Unfortunately it may be coming on Thursday.. At least if the Nets, specifically Carter, go out fighting on Thursday i'll be satisfied..

Re: Dear Rod,
Keep Jason Kidd, I don't mind trade either RJ or VC, Both of them suck.
RJ missed the dunk to kill the momentum of us. And VC is soft, he dares not to make any small contact,
and he can't shoot the ball stably.
Trade VC + Krstic + Collins + 1st pick for KG.
I don't care it anymore,
this team won't win the champions if we keep big 3.

so what? wow, vince carter is our best weapon; that's not saying much when the Offense is terrible. the guy chokes. sure, he has hit big shots at the end of games, but how many times has he blown it? don't even bring up stats, because Vince was something like 6/21 shooting going into the 4th. and this game wasn't much different than his 1/8 second half two games ago. if anything, VC's trade value is dropping because he's proving to the rest of the league that he's not gonna do anything for your team in the Playoffs, when it really matters.
i agree with those who say next year the front court will be better: Kristic coming back, Moore, Boone with more experience, and hopefully Illic panning out.
i say get whatever we can for Carter -- try packaging our first pick and Carter to move up into the Lottery. one guy i'd like to look more into is Nick Young from USC. if we get rid of Vince, he may be the best replacement.
cheers

Exactly. Why re-sign him? Sign and trade him.
Coaching would be much easier for him with a good big man next to Nenad.

Lawremce needs to go he is a problem
RJ/ VC one of them need to go

Re: Dear Rod,
Nenad Krstic Is Not The Answer. He Is A Piece. We Need A Dominant Rebounder In The Lineup Badly!
If We Had A Wilcox Or Okafor, Someone Who Is Just Going To Crash Boards And Change Shots We Would Be Going To The Finals. Keep The Lineup If Possible But Get A Rebounder In Here!
You Dont Win With Kidd Crashing The Boards Everynite.
