Rudy Fernandez
Couple of mocks have the Nets taking him.
FIBA website today had a feature on him and his NBA prospects, quoting an NBA European scout...who I guess could be the Nets Rob Meurs.

Like him, but I'd rather have Belinelli

Belinelli's an outside shooter coming off a year-long slump. 32% on threes in the Euroleague this year after 44% last year. He might fix it, but I don't know if he's worth the risk.

I'm aware of how poorly he played this season compared to last which is why I'll be surprised if he keeps his name in the draft.
That said, as much as I like Fernandez, Belinelli has demonstrated that he can do more with the ball and is willing to be the man.

Belinelli a better defender, although Fernandez is playing better in a better league.
In their biggest games at the Worlds last summer, both played well against top competition. Belinelli played better. Belinelli scored 25 against Team USA--the most by any opponent; while Fernandez scored 18 vs. Serbia. Belinelli also scored 26 vs. Slovenia with five NBA players on their roster.
Belinelli boxes:

Re: Rudy Fernandez
Fernandez can run the break. It would help Kidd and Williams getting another sprinter alongside.

Re: Rudy Fernandez
at #17, fernandez, mcroberts, tomic, belinelli and thaddeus young look all the same to me...i hope fernandez can also play the point guard spot and can defend quicker players and make marcus and house uneasy...one player to replace two...

Draft Projection: Late first to early second
Notes: Fernandez declared for the 2005 Draft but withdrew his name when he wasn't
guaranteed to be a first-round pick. Plays for DKV Joventut in Spain. Averaged 15.8 ppg and shooting 43 percent from three in 25 mpg in the Euroleague this season.
Positives: He really has it all -- athleticism, ballhandling, shooting touch (with NBA 3-point range) and active defense. He has the ability to play both the one and the two because of his excellent floor vision, increasing his value. He's got a great vertical and a long wingspan. Good lateral quickness. Excellent basketball IQ.
Negatives: Strength is the biggest issue. He looks very frail and needs to add a lot of muscle to his wiry frame. Average first step means he too often settles for jumpers. Not a great shooter off the dribble.
Summary: He fell out of good graces with many GMs last season. He's got all the tools, but GMs are waiting for him to put them together and praying he works on that body. His strong season in Euroleague play has helped his stock, but he's still stuck on the first-round bubble.

Re: Rudy Fernandez
I'd also rather Belinelli to Fernandez.
