Crappy Announcing
Was anybody else getting frustrated by the announcing of Dick Stockton and Reggie Miller? It was driving me up a wall. The color commentary sucked.
To top it off, Stephanie Ready's segments were painful. She started talking about LeBron's shoes at one point, which raises other questions.
I understand that they're human (you could tell Reggie was trying hard) and make mistakes, but game 4 seemed pretty bad. Anyone agree? Do we get to hear Mark Jackson at all this series?

Re: Crappy Announcing
Stockton has a good voice, but doesnt have an NBA pace, just like Al Micheals.
Reggie Miller is awful. Bad voice, bad insight. And how many times are they going to bring up Reggies greatest moments?

Re: Crappy Announcing
Anyone remember the skills competition when Kobs was shooting the foul shot ?
For like 12 seconds all you hear was "NERVES! NERVES! NERVES! NERVES! NERVES! NERVES! NERVES!NERVES! NERVES! NERVES! NERVES! NERVES! NERVES! NERVES!NERVES! NERVES! NERVES! NERVES! NERVES! NERVES! NERVES!"
First of all, it was the most annoying thing Ive eve heard. Secondly, this is Kobe Bryant. You think hes nervous in a skills competition? Really?

If you want to hear Jackson, just watch the YES broadcast.

How about Jason Kidd at age 34? Nice to see him passing the baton over to the future stars like Lebron. Lebron, Lebron, Lebron, Lebron, Lebron, Lebron, Lebron, Lebron, Lebron, Lebron, Lebron, Lebron, Lebron, Lebron, Lebron, Lebron, Lebron, Lebron, Lebron, Lebron, Lebron, Lebron, Lebron, Lebron, Lebron, Lebron, Lebron, Lebron, Lebron, Lebron, Lebron, Lebron, Lebron, Lebron, Lebron, Lebron.

Re: Crappy Announcing
Reggie is unlistenable. He tries to hard at every aspect of it (trying to have energy, trying to be funny, trying to provide player insider info, etc.). He just isn't good.
And this seems to go for all announcers on national broadcast, but they all go nuts with LeBron. We all know he's good, we all know the NBA is trying to make him the face of the league and all that kind of stuff. But every time he does anything it's like it's a ground breaking event. "Gooden with the rebound...passes it out to snow...moves left...passes TO LEBRON!!!!! DRIBBLES TOWARDS THE BASELINE!!! LOOK HOW STRONG HE IS!!! WHAT A PASS TO larry hughes...shot clock down to 10...CAN YOU BELIEVE THAT PASS BY LEBRON?! I'VE NEVER SEE ANYONE WHO CAN DO A BOUNCE PASS TO ANOTHER PLAYER BEFORE...hughes dribbles....BACK TO LEBRON!!! MISSES THE TURN AROUND JUMPER! ISN'T IT AMAZING HOW STRONG HE IS TO GET THAT SHOT UP THERE?!?! Oh. Jefferson hits a basket or something at the other end. LEBRON INBOUNDS THE BALL!!!"
We get it. If I have to hear how strong LeBron is one more time, I'm muting the TV for the rest of the games that aren't on YES.

Doug Collins and Kevin Harlan do that with the Suns. They start frothing at the mouth as soon as Nash makes a behind the back pass or something. It becomes unlistenable. I am glad Marv/steve are doing the Suns/Spurs series now.
