LBJ is just a younger version of VC
maybe even softer ....that strength and power at his age....and yet crumples when colliding with KIDD....obviously Kidd had the worst of it...he was on the floor...had the FLU for a friggin' week on the series against the Wizards....geez...dissappears in crunch time when they need him most....Reggie Miller was speechless bec. he kept expecting James to take over...

Re: LBJ is just a younger version of VC
i was kind of thinking about that comparison throughout the game today. has more to do with me being extremely down on vince at the moment then anything against LBJ, but i agree there seems to be a simularity in thier games. especially when you see that "game face" scowl on LBJ or VCs face, so you can tell they are trying to take over, just dont have that extra killer instict, leadership or whatever you wanna call.

LeBron James to teammates: "We will win this game tonight, guys."
Anyways, I am beginning to hate him.

i never liked him, i was always more of a melo fan. melo is way more humble and has a more likeable personality. lebron just seems too full of himself. he's lived up to the hype with his stats but i personally dislike him. he says things like "i'd like to be a global icon" or "bron bron doesn't have time for this." (he said that to a sports illustrated reporter that was trying to interviews him because he thought the reporter was late, when he actually was not). what kind of a person says these things? MJ or VC or any other big star has never actually said yea i'd like to be one of the most wealthy and most recognizable people on the planet. those are things you keep to yourself. i also find it ridiculous that he actually thinks or hopes he'll be one of the most wealthiest people on the planet by simply averaging 28,7,7 in the NBA. running fast and jumping high are not two attributes that you find in the people that are on the top 20 most wealthiest list. the kid needs to get out to the real world a bit more or go to college. i just tire of his fake humbleness.

Re: LBJ is just a younger version of VC
This dude is 22 and the team he's on is extremely flawed.
I'm probably not going to root much for him in his career, but he is an elite level superstar and probably will be the best player in the league for a long time.

People said the same things about Vince years back.
Both players are definitely very comparable for the early portions of their careers. Vince was just more athletic and more of a gymnast inside the paint while Lebron relies more on his strength in the post and to just bulldoze where ever he's going.

Re: LBJ is just a younger version of VC
LeBron James's biggest advantage is that he has a very very strong body,
so he could play in the paint easily. To run or To jump is just a easy case for him, and the defenders hardly stop him when one-on-one.
He is still lack of some basketball skills, I like the way Nets stopped him, when he wanted to go to the paint, we have 3 guys to be in front of him ( Collins, Kidd, Wright ), so he can't do what he wants to do.
We are still a quality big man away from the title. I don't like the damn LBJ, the NBA likes to hype this kid, but his big body makes him ugly, and he is not a star like MJ who is only 6-6 and always fighted with the bigger defender, instead, LBJ is always bigger, so I don't like his games.
Carter's passing game is not worse than LBJ as long as he controls his shooting selection like tonight.

Re: LBJ is just a younger version of VC
He has not significantly advanced since last year. His numbers are down in regular season and he played better against the Pistons last year than he has against the Nets this year.
His team is flawed...and one reason is their lousy draft. They had a choice of Jordan Farmar, Sergio Rodriguez, even Mardy Collins, all proven to be acceptable rookie point guards, and instead went with Shannon Brown, who has done nothing with them. Gibson was a nice secound round pick, but Farmar and Rodriguez, and maybe even Collins, are better.

Re: LBJ is just a younger version of VC
Vince Carter was never a 6'8" 250 pound player who could play all five positions at a high level in the NBA at age 20.

LeBron can play neither point guard, power forward, or center at a high level.

He seems like he takes himself a little too seriously.

Re: LBJ is just a younger version of VC
could be a case of him getting blinded by the hype created for him by the nba, nike and the media. this guy was proclaimed as "king" eventhough he has yet to prove anything on the hardcourt.
he has not won anything yet to be considered as the king. no ncaa championship (make that no ncaa experience). no olympic gold medal. no championship ring. no mvp title. nothing. so how did he become a king?
i think those who proclaimed him to be the king are realizing that it takes more than the hype to be the ruler of the basketball kingdom.
