I'm hoping for a Spurs sweep with AK47 being the goat.

Well, say we want keep the big 3 and not use them in a trade. That would make Collins( and other assets)the only contract big enough to possibly use in a trade to acquire an experienced starting front court player. Then the Nets could use the MLE on a guy like Magloire and bring him off the bench if he's cool with that role.

Re: Next year's starting PF?
I think he could go as high as #3. Most certainly won't be on the board when the Nets pick.

Well to be fair, that was after Stern changed the league policy on carrying weapons and KG could no longer distract Zach with his pump, uzi and couple M-16s.

Well, I think there was a report that Camby could be on the trade block this summer, not sure how credible the source was though. But it kind of would make sense for the Nuggets to trade him considering they have so much money invested in front court players with Kmart, Nene. and even Evans. Thats a big investment long term and then you include Iverson and Melo's contracts.

Re: Name some bigman to acquire
I think if they had to make a choice theyd hang onto camby over AI. I dont feel like AI is fitting as well as they thought

Re: Name some bigman to acquire
Here's what I posted in a different nets thread.. You should go for one of the Piston's bigs who doesn't return, because there won't be enough minutes for all of these guys and one of them should be available.
Quote:
Jason Maxiell may be a FA or have a player option. I've always thought he would be awesome on the nets. He could totally do Kenyon Martin's old job, plus he is a great defender and rebounder. If he isn't a FA you should try and trade for him, he is perfect for the nets.
Antonio McDyess may opt out as well. He could really improve the nets rebounding and he shoots a really high percent.
Amir Johnson is a FA but I doubt the Piston's let him get away. He'd be a good young PF pick up though. He averaged like 20/10+ in the NBDL. Great 19 or 20 year old who grew to 7'.

Re: Name some bigman to acquire
Varejo I believe is a FA.
McDyess could be available.
Webber is a FA.
Camby is on the block, probably Brad Miller if he still can play.
Channing Frye could be on the block as well.
PJ Brown is a FA.
Pau Gasol, Jermaine O'Neal, Kevin Garnett are the usual trading block names.
Thaddues Young, Marc Gasol, Al Thornton, Spencer Hawes are some of the names that could be around for the draft.

Or else we sign a big like Maglore,PJ Brown or somehow remarkabley get Camby is goings going to be Josh Boone's job. Coach Frank isn't going to give a rookie a starting job.

Re: Next year's starting PF? [MERGED x3]
I really don't understand how this team is going to get a player better than Krstic or Moore via free agency/trade or draft a player (especially considering the number they are drafting at) more polished than Boone will be next year. Getting a starting PF, to me, will either mean making sure Krstic is completely healthy, or trading one of Krstic, RJ, Kidd, or Carter in a S&T.

Re: Next year's starting PF? [MERGED x3]
less expensive bigs that could help,
Chris Mihm, Averaged 1.2 in blocks in 05/06 and 6.3 rebounds
Melvin Ely( if mamangment is still interested)
Narz Mohammed people have forgotten about him, his clearly been buried in Detriot's bench
Brandon Bass can rebound and block shots

brown, mcdyess, and webber are all way too old, and brad miller isn't that good any more. plus, brad miller is not the type of player we need.
marc gasol sucks and thornton & young are SF's i believe.\
channing frye is a krstic wannabe...
other than that, the other players would be nice additions. especially varajeo and camby. and hawes...

You'd take Boone if he didn't have any of those, and only had one leg.
