Varejao, Peitrus, or Nociono
Can we get either. I would first try and offr the full ML for Varejao and see if Cleveland matches. Then I would do the same for Peitrus. If that did'nt work I would try and give it to Nocioni. I hop we can get 1 of them but its pretty unlikely.

By the time Cavs matched the Varejao offer, the other two will be under contract elsewhere, or already have offer sheets.
And I'll believe Nets will use there MLE (if Vince stays) when I see it happen.

Re: Varejao, Peitrus, or Nociono
If we go and try to take Varejao, it would be similar to the SAR situation all over again(we go after a player, we didnt sign him as originally planned, other options are gone). Most likely Cleveland will match any offer, and Nocioni will most likely be gone within the first few weeks of the offseason.
As for Pietrus, we could go after him but I think it really depends on what we do on draft day first.

The only one that probably wouldn't get matched is Peitrus but doesn't make much sense if Carter stays. And the way Carter is dragging this out I don't see it happening.

Re: Varejao, Peitrus, or Nociono
We should really try for Varejao. Clevland needs to shed salary. Maybe we could work out a sign and trade. Or if we end up trading RJ in pursuit of a big man Nocioni would be a good replacement.

Re: Varejao, Peitrus, or Nociono
Only way Cleveland is likely to let Varejao go is if they can get a good point guard back. His importance to that team probably exceeds his value anywhere else.
Of course there is one thing that I have thought of lately.Cleveland might be one of the few teams in the league that might find a sign and trade for VC something of a reasonable option.Their backcourt is just horrendous.Gibson has been a saviour to them, but they need any type of guards they can get and particularly they could use a good second scoring option. He'd be far from ideal, but you can wait a long time for that guy.

The name Marcus comes to mind. We give them Marcus for Varejao in a sign and trad and fillers if ned be. And Cleveland has nothing that would intruige the Nets. Mayb if thy gav Gooden and something else like Gibson but I doubt they'd do that.

Varejao has to agree to a S&T, and with the money he'll request he'll be BYC, and Marcus just doesn't make enough money.

for what? assuming they keep LeBron, it'd be Hughes/Z+Gooden/Varejao.
I doubt they'd want to give up two frontcourt players, so we'd get Hughes+Gooden/Varejao
and Hughes has a horrible contract, long, high priced, and he sucks, so I really wouldn't like that.

Re: Varejao, Peitrus, or Nociono
I still think Cleveland is trying to shed salary. If we offer the full MLE maybe they'll just let him go and look in thee draft for a replacemnt.

They do'nt? Well I guss they could just rely on what they have. They dont really have any salary space for Varejao.

If VC doesn't resign then we definately need to sign Peitrus for the full MLE
