Most Duke players suck big in NBA?
Most players from any college suck big in the NBA. Let's look at the Duke list.
Carlos Boozer--too soft, a cream puff??...Elton Brand--too soft, cream puff??...Luol Deng--too soft, cream puff??...Grant Hill--good player, and tremendous courage overcoming injury...Corey Maggette--fine offensive player...Shane Battier--hardly a cream puff...Chris Duhon--unheralded, but useful player...Christian Laettner--O.K. big...Danny Ferry---bust...Mike Dunleavy--overrated...Johnny Dawkins--played well for several years in the NBA.
DUKE/NETS: Jim Spanarkel--hey, I like his announcing...Mike Gminski--often injured, but probably one of the Nets' best NBA centers...Jay Williams--injury.

Re: McRoberts, Smith, Fazekas yesterday
I just hope you all realize the Nets are not looking to pick an allstar at 17. Mcroberts is a very talented player, you just have to hope he can be motivated to put it to good use, that is IF the Nets dont select Sean Williams who is a bigger question mark

Re: McRoberts, Smith, Fazekas yesterday
we need a pf who can rebound and block shots but sean williams is too much of a risk at #17 and he has no offensive game as well and those types of players are obtainable from the d-league.
however, a skilled, passing big man is hard to find so i'm going with mcroberts even if smith is still on the board. he also plays with a lot of intensity. his negative is defense but smith is no defensive monster either. smith also played on a bad team in a non-major tournament.
tiago splitter if he slips is perfect but unless the nets already have a deal with his euro team in place then he is a big risk also.

Re: McRoberts, Smith, Fazekas yesterday
Jason Smith looks like he could really develop into a great NBA player. Good athleticism, decent game, a hard worker, and most importantly, he had a crappy coaching staff in college that probably never taught him things like, a post game, or defense.
A little bit of a project I think, but worth taking a risk on.
I still like Splitter the most out of anyone we might be drafting.

Hey atleast we dont put creampff's into the NBA. For a school such as Duke to put as many Players into the NBA as they do you would think they would be half good.
Duke players benfit from the system, where as we UCONN put men into the NBA that can ball.
UCONN Players >>>>>>>>>>>>> Duke Players.
