PS - the numbers from Dave D that I was citing are from this article:

"The Nets' payroll will stand at roughly $64 million with 13 players under contract after Carter and rookie Sean Williams sign their deals"

but earlier, "Owner Bruce Ratner said in March he wanted Carter on his team despite the eight-time All-Star's disappointing postseason performance, even if a new deal vaulted the team's payroll over the luxury tax threshold, which will be set later this month at approximately $65.4 million."

I believe Dave D's numbers are wrong. I based my numbers on the Sports Illustrated salary figures which SI got officially.
