Hassan can't scrap out a game like the last one every night and It's not like Sean can beat his man off the dribble and I'd really like Marcus to get a connection going with them. Marcus looks like a guy who's definitely not comfortable with his teammates and where to get them the ball and is finding himself open and settling for that.

Sounds like a lazy leader. This is the time to work on your game, his game management sucked, and he really isn't doing much about it, you can shoot in the gym by yourself, a point guard is to run the team, not jack up every shot because you're making he most money. He needs to develop a game with Williams, wait for Williams to get position, work on the 2 man game, you're the vet......

I think he's still very much in 'I'll show em I can be a major player' mode and not really realizing what he needs to be one on this team. I agree with you 100%. I don't care if we set some NBA record for a loss in summer league as long as these kids get a rhythm together. Sean looks as though he's working himself into game shape as well but yer right they should run sets and work on that against real competition instead of just trying to win a meaningless game.

So now, we are psychoanalyzing him from afar. He played a great game...at least on offense. You think he ignored the game plan? If so, why was he in there for all but six minutes? Why are we so concerned about Sean Williams' confidence?
He penetrated well, found Hite open for three's, and used screens well all day long.
It's not as if this is even training camp. It's summer league.

I'm not concerned with Sean's confidence and i'm not psychoanalyzing anything. I've played basketball with talented kids like him before and when they don't know or trust their teammates they go into world beater mode. It's not a terrible thing but it's not the point of summer league either, this isn't a kid looking to get a contract. This performance to me was a big audition for more minutes. You can't tell me that him being benched and yanked outa games all year and not given the slightest breaks come playoff that he's not coming out to show what he worked on. Did he consciously say that he's gonna come show everybody who the man is? No, but it was there subconsciously and his stat line was very telling to the game today.
I'm glad he's trimmed down and he's alot quicker penetrating into the lane but these are the level of guys he should be on the floor with as our starters are resting and he isn't looking for what he should be. I know very well it's not training camp but why wouldn't we want to start establishing a connection between teammates now, setting that groundwork, to make training camp that much more productive?

Don't forget that Marcus almost beat the Suns starting five in the 06 07 season.

I see you ignored my point about maybe he was following the game plan and instead devolved into more major blah-blah.

Better than yesterday, but still nothing TOO amazing yet. He had one very nice block, and he actually showed a few glimpses of real life offensive ability. He's definitely not as useless offensively as he was said to be.

yeah, marcus did not do very well. chris quinn, future all-star that he is, should not be getting 23 points against marcus.
mike conley, on the other hand, is working very hard:
