Re: Looks like Ilic is gone too
Its amazing the allure of the unknown. When this guy was overseas we were dying to get him to NJ(me included). And after 10 minutes, we had seen enough.
I dont think hes a bum though, hes a few years away, he might be something one day. Maybe a shot blocker and rebounder

And you know as well as I do that the way owners of sports teams make money is by building the value of the team in anticipation of a future sale, regardless of yearly operating losses. After the move to Brooklyn, Ratner will have done extremely well with his investment.

Re: Looks like Ilic is gone too
I remember this board hyping this kid up more than anything, and I read a bunch of AK47 comparisons.

You sure about that? He's not similar to Andrei. At all.

I also feel that Krstic at power forward (If he hits the offensive and defensive glass more) can become a Kevin McHale type player. He has the shot and the inside moves.................

Re: Looks like Ilic is gone too
Big Deal, o.iatl, I'm sure I can dig up some stupid comparisons by Hawks fans, like comparing Shelden Williams to Buck Williams.

Not all posters are created equal.
Seriously though, at some point every "prospect" is compared to the upside of someone that has been successful. Although, AK47 has to be the oddest comparison for Ilic.

OK? You said a bunch of comparisons. That's only one (and I wouldn't consider the poster who made the comparison the most reliable fan in the world. AJC NYC tends to over hype nearly everything regarding the Nets)
It's still a terrible comparison.

Re: Looks like Ilic is gone too
usually, it's not really hype or truth but hope...
when someone says "Krstic/Ilic is the next TD/David Robinson"...
its something like posting "Monique Colemen=My wife!!"
