Matchups
Looking forward to next year I want to show some matchups for our main eastern conference foes.
VS Boston
Frontcourt: Collins and Krstic don't do a great job on Al Jefferson, but Magloire has historically done a good job against him.
Wing: Carter + RJ vs Pierce + Ray Allen , this is close. Most people around the league would think that it is clearly Boston. But it really isn't. Neither Pierce or Ray Allen can play any D, so they are in the same league as Vince. RJ can play solid defense on either one of them. Vince is known to historically defeat Pierce, but Ray Allen historically defeats Vince, but Jefferson does a good job guarding Allen. If I were Frank, Vince on Pierce, and Jefferson on Ray. Neither Pierce or Allen can guard Vince.
Point: Kidd owns the point, no arguement.
VS Chicago
Frontcourt: Ben Wallace has had his way with all our centres including Magloire. He is aging, and Joe Smith is nothing special either. The question is can they stop Krstic + Magloire, and how much is Tyrus Thomas going to contribute.
Wing: Ben Gordon and Deng can either be hot or not. Vince and RJ are still better than them, and most likely always will be.
Point: Kidd > Hinrich.
VS Detroit
Frontcourt: None of our bigs can guard McDyess, they do a good job on Sheed, and CWebb. There frontcourt is still better but we closed the gap a lot.
Wing: Rip has his way with Vince even though he shouldn't. RJ > Prince.
Point: Kidd =Billups
Either way in a 7 game series
VS Cleveland
Frontcourt: Magloire does a better job than our bigs against clevelands froncourt, plus nenad is back. We definately closed the gap.
Wing: Carter should have rolled cleveland but he didn't, Lebron didn't really outplay Carter+RJ, but the nets have the better 2,3.
Point: Kidd
On paper we are better.
Miami:
Frontcourt: An aging Shaq+ Mourning +haslem still trouble for our frontcourt. Magloire more than negates Mourning, but Haslem still has are number unless Shawn Williams can do something about it.
Wing: our 2+3 is better. And who knows how bad wade is after his injury.
Point: Kidd.
On paper we may have finally caught up to the heat.
