The real reason that we don't stay Mikki Moore
To avoid the Cleveland to land Mike Bibby.
If we didn't let Mikki go to Sacramento, The Cleveland might trade Gooden for Mike Bibby.
now they still don't have a point guard in the games, but they still have Drew Gooden there, and Nothing else will happen.
By the way, Miami Heat, Cleveland Cavs now they both do not make the moves yet.
It's a good time for us to surpass them.
But I think Detroit is a competitor, because they added two youths to their rosters.
Rodney Stuckey, a athletic guard who is like Wade,
I think he will hurt the Nets when we play Pistons, no matter whether C-Webb will go or Not.But Marcus Williams, and Antoine Wright will answer Rodney.
Go Nets

thanks, and you are not the only one to tell me that.
Sometimes I just don't pay attention on writing the English article.
OK, I just edited it.

Re: The real reason that we don't stay Mikki Moore
Well they're going to start burning up the lines to Houston and see if they can get a cheap filler. Alston, James, Head, Brooks....yea they should just stick with Snow, Jones and Gibson. No idea what Sac's doing, Hawes, now Moore. 3 years 18 million, Nets offer 3 years 11 million, that would have been a huge hometown discount for Moore to give up. I think Detroits over, you pull what Sheed did in the playoffs, Saunders has lost them, they may win 50 games, but their finals run is over.

Re: The real reason that we don't stay Mikki Moore
When Sac signed Mikki the first thing I thought was that the Gooden-Bibby deal was dead. I was happy but when I think about it now it wouldnt have been that bad. Bibby is not the true PG that the cavs need and losing Gooden left them exposed to an eventual Big Z injury.
Dont worry about it JarKid everyone can understand what you are saying and if I cant I always get a good laugh out of it.

Huh, didn't think about that.
Doubt that was our first priority, but still good.
RJ24VC15, the day you go to Taiwan and try to speak the local language and succeed is the day you can make fun of jarkid.

Re: The real reason that we don't stay Mikki Moore
The more I read, the more I think the Nets wanted Magloire from the beginning.
Paul Jones of Sportsnet Canada is an old friend of Magloire, someone who has followed him since high school in Toronto. He wrote on June 29 that the "New Jersey Nets are very interesting in Magloire". I think they low-balled Moore deliberately, gave him a limited amount of time deliberately and the dinner in Orlando with Magloire was not a get-acquainted session, as it was portrayed, but a closing.

I know one of the parties involved and I can tell you with 100% certainty that this is exactly what did happen. I tried to say that in another thread, but NI is right on and this is completely accurate.

In the end even if they lowballed Mikki Moore, Mikki is happy. That $10.3M offer was the most the Nets could offer to Mikki and keep Hassan Adams in the roster.

Re: The real reason that we don't stay Mikki Moore
to say that the nets let mikki go just to bust up a trade that would send bibby to the cavs is giving thorn too much credit, even though you can agrue that keeping bibby out of cleveland benifits all teams in the east. besides, sac wasn't even metioned as a team that was looking at mikki til they actually agreed on the deal.

Thorn wanted toughness and Magloire brings it. Moore does not. Re-signing Moore meant signing a terrific backup for Krstic. Signing Magloire, at a very cheap price, meant signing a starting center.
The key difference is not the $8 million difference between what the Nets offered Moore and what the Kings offered him; it's the $6.3 million difference between what the Nets offered Moore and what they agreed to pay Magloire. It's a risk, but also a no-brainer if they think Magloire can bring them double double numbers...which is what he has done the last two years when playing 30 or more minutes.

Re: The real reason that we don't stay Mikki Moore
Most Net fans called for the Nets to offer Mikki $10 mil over 3 years (I wanted the 3rd year to be a team option, but after it was certain Vince would be resigned, the 3rd year option was moot).
Kings overpaid, plain and simple.
Just like they did for SAR.
