Re: Kidd wants out?
Can you blame him? He signed the mega-deal to stay here b/c he believed the Nets were committed to winning. Then they go and trade K-Mart. He wasn't the most skilled guy but he attacked the basket and he was a very good post defender and was developing a offensive game, add in Martin and Krstic along with an improving Jefferson thats a team that could easily win the East. The Zo signing was kind of stupid I'm not gonna lie they could have used that money to sign a veteran sg shooter or something. He stayed in NJ instead of leaving for San Antonio. He wants a title more than anything. He's already looking foward to free agency. In the Si.com article about him and Lebron he's already talking about opting out and leaving. He says later that he wants to win with NJ but its pretty obvious he doesn't mean it. He's busting his a$$ for this team and they just continue to suck. He was the one that was supposed to decline as the years went on, especially after the microfracture knee surgery and instead he's playing some of the best basketball of his career yet his team around him is terrible and will only get worse, especially the way the East is improving. Toronto isn't going anywhere. Miami will start getting better now that Wade is back. Orlando is on the rise. Boston. Detroit. Cleveland. Washington when healthy is better than NJ. Charlotte is improving. Milwaukee is improving. Atlanta is improving. Indiana is probably better. Even Chicago as bad as they are playing right now is probably going to get better and better. Even Philly is on the right track, young team that will have cap space in a few years. NJ is on the decline. The only reason they will make the playoffs is Kidd. Any other PG and this team would be AWFUL.

Re: Kidd wants out?
As long as we're being stupid...
a. Jefferson+first rounder for Lebron
if not...
b. Kidd for T-Mac and Head
c. Who cares, it's a silly article that makes Kidd look good, and the Nets for having him. Stop over-reacting.

Re: Kidd wants out?
You guys are overreacting to a silly Sports Illustrated article!! The article was about Kidd and Lebron. Did you really expect Kidd to speak negatively about Lebron in a stupid article that was all about the greatness of Lebron??? Get a grip, people. Kidd is allowed to vent, allowed to talk about other good players, etc, without the fans all saying "OMG Kidd wants out?!?!"
Ever think that maybe he wants Lebron to come HERE? You know there are tampering rules in the NBA right? Kidd can't tell Sports Illustrated that he wants Lebron to come to NJ. He would get fined. Remember when he said he wanted McDyess on his team? That was a No-No. And there was no direct quote from Kidd saying he wanted to go to Cleveland. For all we know, the writer could have made that completely up. And if he actually did want to go to Cleveland WHO CARES?!? This isn't the first time the National media has tried to claim that Kidd wanted to go somewhere... to Houston to play with McGrady, to Minny to play with Garnett. Who cares? There are always unrealistic scenarios, scenarios he usually forgets about when the Nets start winning or the other team starts stinking. You don't hear Kidd ever talking about 1st-round-exit-every-year McGrady anymore (I don't know if he ever did talk about that. Ric Bucher invented that one.)
Kidd plays his butt off on the Nets. We don't owe him anything (the Nets have done as much for him as Kidd's done for the Nets). These guys' egos lead them to believe they are owed titles. Nobody is owed anything. The Nets have a lot of potential. We have a great combination of older guys and younger guys, in my opinion. A lot of teams around the league are getting really old. I don't care if you don't want to use the injuries to our starters as an excuse, but I think it's a great excuse. We've only lost 3 games with Carter playing... and Krstic is still nowhere to be found. It would also be nice to have a healthy backup PG who is not NBDL. (No offense, Gill. You are playing ok)

Re: Kidd wants out?
who is over reacting??? People are only responding to something Kidd said.
True we have been here before. Kidd dream of playing somewhere else in 2005. His words.
Now last year Kidd was nearly traded the only reason he wasn't because the Lakers would not give up Bynum not the Nets decision. Kidd wasn't upset when he heard the news actually he was disappointed the trade did not happen. Why am I mentioning this because the Nets showed the would moved Kidd to build for the future (not for another all star player) also it showed Kidd was against being moved from Jersey.
Now I will not lose injuries as an excuse. Every year it is an excuse for the Nets. Time to put up or shut up for the Nets. I'm tired of we lost cause RJ was hurt Robinson was suspended Krstic was hurt we had no bench the refs and now this??

If that what this is all I say is wow. A player just signed a big contract and the only way to get the best out of him would be that??? What does that say about Carter. That would only further separate him from players like Wade Lebron Kobe and others who come out every night and play hard.
I feel that can't be what kidd was doing if so Carter is just proving the doubters right.
People can say over reacting all they want but we weren't the ones who almost moved Jason Kidd for Bynum. The Nets were injuried last year too but I guess management didn't want to use that as an excuse either.

So if people getting paid millions are not too concern about the Net competing for a ring. Why should I be? I'm going to be a fan watch games and cheer. but I'm not going to kill myself over what the Nets are and are not doing

Re: Kidd wants out?
Lol Carter? What has Carter done wrong? The Nets have lost only 3 games with him in the lineup. RJ's having a career year because Vince is taking a backseat to him. The more I read arhie's posts, the more I notice his biggest concerns is about Vince scoring 20-25 points a game. Why does he need to score 25 to be at his best? The team was doing just fine when he was scoring 15 and being a playmaker. I actually prefer that Vince, because it gives other players a chance to contribute.
I still dont get how this whole Kidd wanting out as turned into a criticism of Vince. When Vince was healthy, the team was winning. Kidd's outburts came when the team was losing

because people want to make it look like it's a method to Kidd response. Believe if Carter said he dreamed about playing with Dwight the response would be a little bit more angrier.

Re: Kidd wants out?
I get what you are saying, thats why KIAN's post is on point too. Bron is clearly better than Vince. I mean he is the best player in the game. Who wouldn't want to play with him? Same thing goes for Dwight. I dont think he could have answered that question any better.
Kidd might as well be patient, Bron might be a Net in a few years time.

I think Kidd's personal life being in seemingly complete turmoil literally days before the trade deadline also might have had something to do with the Nets shopping Kidd. The papers were just filled with negative story after negative story, day after day. Maybe the Nets were overwhelmed by it and worried that it would lead to even more chemistry issues on the team. And I think Kidd might have thought LA would be a nice escape from it all. But then things calmed down... I mean you can't really run from your problems. And in the end, I'm guessing the Nets care about what you do on the court, not what you do off of it, and the chemistry was fine down the stretch, or at least it looked like it.

Re: Kidd wants out?
People are actually overreacting.. I dunno how many people actually read the articles here but he clearly said, it would be amazing to play with lebron but if its just playing during summers for olympic and such thats the way it is.
If i remember correctly Kidd previous said he would like to play with certain players (KG if i remember correctly). Not to mention there were many many MANY MANY players who said they wanted to play with Kidd. They are just showing respect to each other. this doesn't mean Kidd wants out of jersey.

Re: Kidd wants out?
Just to add, not to jump on Kidd as I know he's the heart and soul of the Nets but him shooting 36% from the field, 30% from 3 and committing 4 turnovers a game certainly isn't helping the cause too much.

Re: Kidd wants out?
This reminds me a little bit of a few years ago when Kidd was definitely going to go to San Antonio.

Re: Kidd wants out?
The team is currently 7-8. Its still pretty much early we could make a run in December. Looking at our roster we have a good team we just lack a strong post pressence. Thats our weakness if we can add a strong post player then we should be in good shape.
However if we continue to struggle then I wouldn't be upset if we traded Kidd. I think he deserves to play for a championship.
