Ridiculous theory
being discussed on 'another Nets' forum' that Kidd missed his last 3-point attempt purposely.
Not really discussed, but suggested by one poster, and scoffed at by all other, more sane, posters.
I'm sure no one in here could perceive of such a scenario.
Just trying to post something will get some sort of exchange going.

Re: Ridiculous theory
Why would he do that though? And how would anyone know, unless Kidd himself told others

Obviously, no one would know other than Kidd, but it was a theory put forth, so I thought I'd bring it up as a subject to be discussed.
The poster that suggested it obviously feels that Kidd has (more than) given up on the Nets.
Of course, I believe that is a RIDICULOUS premise.
But that poster is a Byron Scott fan, so he obviously has Kidd issues.

Re: Ridiculous theory
I think the more interesting piece from last night regarding Kidd, was the article Reggie and co. discussed. I dont have the exact article, but it was somewhere to the tune of Kidd saying because the East is so bad, the Nets don't really have to put out maximum effort to make the playoffs.
Reggie of course felt he shouldn't have said that, and came off like someone who was satisfied with their present situation

Yeah, Kidd said that about a week ago, followed by a statement from Thorn that he disagreed with Kidd's assessment of the situation.
As the Nets turn.

Re: Ridiculous theory
I don't think he's given up on the Nets but in the last few games (and in fact since he made the "we're a 500 team" statement, it appears that he's resigned to the fact that the Nets are mediocre and his play has certainly lacked the intensity that we usually associate with him. All the other top point guards (Nash, Billups, Davis, Paul, Williams and Parker) are enjoying a lot of team success and the Nets aren't even making the playoffs as of today. That's definitely frustrating for Kidd.

And therein lies the conundrum. If Kidd were playing with as much intensity as he could muster up everygame, Nets would still be mediocre, but would certainly more assured of a playoff spot. As I said, it's a conundrum.

Re: Ridiculous theory
Kidd is frustrated sometimes I feel like he is the only one on the court who hustles. One problem with him this year is on the fast break he sometimes forces the ball too much. He trys to lob it up court and most of the time results in a turnover. Kidd wants to be a contender plain and simple and he feels that the Nets just cannot compete.
