Re: Vince-Least Valuable Player
Vince Carter is over 30 years old and was an athletic phenom. He's getting old.

But yet on this same forum, people have said that Jason Kidd and RJ are the leaders. So then why is the team on a 9 game loosing streak. I mean after all RJ takes the most shots and Kidd makes the most money

Re: Vince-Least Valuable Player
Exactly. If Kidd was best player we wouldn't be in this slump right now. His triple doubles are useless unless he shoots 40% from three.

Vince wasnt dunking last year and the previous year either. The only season he was going crazy with highlights was his first year on the Nets. HE isnt averaging 25ppg because he only takes 16 shots per game. RJ is sharing touches with him now and takes most of the shots. Vince's rebounding, assist numbers and shooting percentages are pretty much the same.
Geez you dont have to be a genius to know that if he doesnt take 19 or 20 shots per game, he wont get 25

What are you talking about? This is the Nets board everyone here watches them.
You haven't noticed he has less of those wow moments? 16 shots is plenty to make it happen.

Re: Vince-Least Valuable Player
Actual shooting wise this is a decent pps. 1.3 isn't bad. Its not great like Magette, or Al Jefferson but its pretty solid for a shooting guard. He needs to have 1.3 pps on 20 shots per game.

In the real world, players dont take 16 shots and score 25 while still giving 5 assists per game. At least not for 82 games

Re: Vince-Least Valuable Player
Love how Vince is the scape goat for the Nets woes. Everyone says how he isnt a leader, and how Kidd and RJ are more important to they team. If thats the case, why is Vince taking all the heat? Doesnt add up. Like I've said before, people remember a young 20's Vince dunking over everyone in the entire NBA, dominating in international play, and getting all the votes come allstar weekend. Hes not in his 20's anymore.
Want to blame Vince for every lose? Great, then you just made him your franchise player. Or you could share the blame with Kidd and RJ. Pick one.

Re: Vince-Least Valuable Player
Well what should I say, yeah Vince is responsible for the Nets poor season. He isn't blameless by the way, his passiveness and bad defense need more to be desired, but he is also far from the least valuable player in the league

Of course, re-signing Vince was a mistake, but Vince ia just a part of the problem. The real problem is Ratner.
But I just found it funny that the Yahoo NBA site, not a Nets' site, declared Vince the league's Least Valuable Player.

He is just as responsible as Kidd, Jefferson, Frank and the rest of the bunch. The problem is that when we need him to step up he chokes. He is suppose to be the guy we can depend on in the clutch during close games. Most of the time when we are in those situations he almost always chokes. The reason why he gets the most blame is because he is supposedly the best player on the team, and when he is underacheiving it really shows. You also mention young VC from his 20's during that time he was a clutch player. He always stepped up to the occaction. Now he doesn't do it as much anymore.

Vince and RJ are playing the same. Kidd and Frank are doing horrible.
