or maybe....
I know it sounds impossible...
but since Cleveland doesn't have crap to give us anyway, we could give Carter or Jefferson, draft picks, Marcus, and Boone for LeBron. I assume that would keep JKidd happy.
Or, is there any place inside this universe we could trade Carter to for just a 2nd rate banger and a shooter? That would probably appease JKidd, because you know Carter has to be a large part of the reason he wants to leave. He knows this team won't win anything of substance with VC as the starting shooting guard.
Either way, I can't believe I haven't seen one good trade notion on this board; to either keep Kidd or to get rid of him...not one?

Re: or maybe....
Read Dave D's mailbag since you are intent on keeping Kidd. He doesn't sound as enthusiastic as you do about keeping him here. Lets be realistic here, in four years the Nets virtually did nothing to improve the team. No significant trades, no coaching change. I think its easy to heap blame on Kidd, Vince and RJ to some extent, but these guys arent miracle workers. Nets management sat on their behinds and never addressed the frontcourt problems. Now the **** has hit the fan, and you expect them to try and appease Kidd. He has every right to be fed up with the team, and as usual I see Vince is looking like the scape goat. Is Vince responsible for Thorn letting Mikki and House go? Is he responsible for the fact that outside Sean and Josh the Nets have no frontcourt depth? Is he responsible for Boki regressing this season? I mean its easy to heap blame on a guy who is averaging 20/6/5 on 45% instead of looking at more logical choices. The Nets team was built wrong, trading Kidd is due. Time to blow up the team and start afresh

Re: or maybe....
actually HB,
I'm not intent on keeping Kidd at all. If this thing is blown up in the right way, I have little problem with that. I was throwing a last ditch idea out there, because frankly, JKidd is one of my all time favorite people to watch play basketball(He has a perfect blend of the modern and classic game). That being said, I have always been a team first fan. If Kidd goes to the Warriors, I don't get Warrior-Kidd Jersey, I go get a Monta Ellis Jersey.
I was just taking a toke off the pipe dream that is: Kidd stays, Carter goes. And know this thing is not Kidd's fault or VC's fault. You are correct, it was the Front Office's or Ownerships heel dragging on building a Frontcourt earlier, and offering VC a Contract that sealed the probable end of the Kidd era.

Re: or maybe....
Maybe Carter AND Jefferson, Nenad Krstic, Sean Williams, Josh Boone, Marcus Williams and your first round picks with no lottery protection for the next 3 years and you MIGHT MAYBE POSSIBLY get LeBron. But I really doubt it.

Re: or maybe....
Even if they had the capspace, Lebron would be wise not to sign with such an organization. The only thing they have shown they care about is the move to Brooklyn and the money they can make over there
Regarding Vince's contract, we can argue about that all day, but really what other choice did they have? Who would they have gotten in return for letting him walk?
