PLEASEE get Mike Miller. he is my favorite player an ive always wanted him on my favorite team!!
although if kid goes and then we get him itll be stupid. why are we adding valuable pieces after we get rid of kidd. why dont we keep kidd and then trade boki+mags for miller. whatever kidd is being a douche and wants out though..

miller would be great for the nets. hopefully thorn could get him. i agree with HB that he'll be a costly sixth man for the nets so another trade could happen... or not.

Re: Magloire + Boki + something for Mike Miller?
Dont you think a rebuilding team like yours would be better to hold onto Mag's expiring contract?
I mean right now I'd be trying to trade VC (of course after finishing the Kidd trade) for some prospects/expirings.. and start building around RJ..or if you want to start from scratch RJ could snatch you some really nice prospects and/or picks

Re: Magloire + Boki + something for Mike Miller?
^^if the nets do trade carter then it's really time for rebuilding. but once the kidd trade is done, nets get a halfcourt/fast pg who i think would compliment carter and kristic while running with RJ on the break. also, other pieces that will come to the nets will also be expiring contracts which makes a magloire trade a good choice since there are others expiring.
on to the topic, miller for mags and boki and likely a draft pick from the mavs would be great for the nets and fill in a need of shooters in the roster

You know I have been wondering this too. Why now is the team making all this moves when Kidd is on the way out? KingofNewark mentioned that maybe Kidd could have burned his bridges in New Jersey. I am beginning to think so too.
Regarding rebuilding, I am against it. Who knows when next teams like Minnesotta and the Sonics will ever make the playoffs? The draft is too risky to bank on.
Retooling is more logical

I don't think Kidd has burned bridges more than Thorn thinking, at his age and contract, Kidd isn't worth trying to please...I need to make this team compete and get younger before Brooklyn.

If this was 2-3 years ago, Thorn would had used his magic to get someone to make Kidd happy AND quiet. Now, with Kidd at the twilight years of his career, if he wants to go, go!

Re: Magloire + Boki + something for Mike Miller?
I dont know if Mike Miller wants to come to a rebuilding/restructuring team and be their 6th man. I could be wrong, but I dont see him being happy with that.

If mike miller comes, plus another trade for a legit scoring big for VC/RJ, kidd needs to stay. that would be a great team around him. he has to see that

Kidd isnt staying, or getting any younger. The Nets arent contenders for a while, with or without Kidd. Time to let him go, hes already let you go.

Re: Magloire + Boki + something for Mike Miller?
but with a legit bigman ( say a healthy jo ) and a sharpshooter like miller, that's like a better version of their 01-02 finals team, with martin and kittles at pf/sg. given of course that kidd isnt as good anymore as his 01 version, but he would be surrounded by better players imo

Kidd is a Mav, all thats left is tinkering with the present deal and getting the right players to make it work.
