Spurs are a good team, and they get the calls.

I thought Diop played very well

Re: Spurs-Nets

^They have been playing better since the trade. Didnt expect them to win but its good to see they werent blown out by 30. The Spurs are just too good a team, maybe one day the Nets can aspire to such, but until Thorn stops letting players come and go I don't see that happening

Re: Spurs-Nets

Our shot election and % was poor, but other than that, and the NBA Still being completely rigged, I thought we played with intensity, decent focus and a clear desire to win.
Seriously, I don't know why I had forgotten or thought it had changed, but certain teams have always been given preference on playing a style of ball that other teams are not allowed to play: ie: swinging elbows and asses from the Virgin Islands on picks on EVERY Pick, defensive 3 seconds on 70% of all plays, and an overall physicality that borders on dirty(except for Bowen which is in fact dirty). No problem with that style, but the NBA only lets one team usually play that way or get favoritism in calls...since the Bulls, there have been three teams allowed to play that way consistently: Pistons, Lakers, and the Spurs. The Lakers and Pistons at least earned 'some' of theirs, the only team to be granted more favors, without earning it, than the Spurs: that aberration of a year from the Heat. Wow, I'm now reminded why none of my friends watch the NBA anymore:
"I Love this (rigged) Game!"

Why have the Lakers & Pistons earn their 'favors', and the 4 time NBA Champion Spurs have not?

Re: Spurs-Nets

that's why i said "some" of theirs.
i guess a better way of saying it is this:
I believe that the Spurs have gotten more and more consistent "help" by virtue of the way their "games" and championship runs have been called. Regardless of the team, it's a sham. And regardless of the team, some of the best evidence of this crap is demonstrated by the reactions of these "gifted" players and teams and coaches when they don't get the calls. Those type teams go absolutely ape****(and don't get nearly enuff techs) when they don't get calls or for moments they AREN'T allowed to play in the unequal fashion that benefits them. You saw it last night...all night. The indignant and entitled looks on their faces when a game gets momentarily called in an "even" fashion, they look and yell around like someone just stole their 200,000 dollar car. I think that's what happened with Joey Crawford. He couldn't take it anymore. He was like: "Duncan, we've been calling games to your advantage since you came into the league, how dare you call me out." He was sick and tired of it...interesting who got the short end of the stick on that one, wasn't it.

I'm guessing you don't remember gams#5 of the Nets-Spurs Finals, where Joey Crawford (certainly one of the biggest POS in the employ of the NBA) practically won that game for the Spurs singlehandedly.

Oh I remember. I'm not saying he's not complicit. I'm saying that he's fully aware AND complicit of the bias they are dictated to enforce. He just had it with Duncan. He was like: "I've given you championships, and u call me a ****? you entitled POS, u r ejected." And then the NBA ejected Crawford because he stepped outside of the "program' for a moment.

Joey Crawford's season suspension was one of the happiest days of my NBA following life.

Joey enjoyed being considered important, but when the NBA finally decided Tim Duncan (the greatest PF to ever play in the NBA) was more important than SuperJoey, it was a great day in NBA history.

Re: Spurs-Nets

To be fair Duncan didn't deserve a technical, Crawford's ego got the best of him. You're telling me someone deserves a tech for laughing?

Re: Spurs-Nets

I can't say that I liked that game. Not the loss, but how they lost. I still think they could have done better, adn the game could have been coached better as well.

I'm not sure if they would have won had things gone better, but the word that comes to mind is "winnable". I don't know if the Spurs were sleeping or whatever, but the Nets weren't being blown out like many thought they would be... and they couldn't capitalize on that.
