There was a report Friday that the Cleveland Cavaliers and New Jersey Nets have had discussions regarding Vince Carter. However the New York Post says the teams have not talked about Carter since mid-February. An Ohio newspaper disagrees with the New York Post, as a source tells The News-Herald that the Cavs and Nets have discussed parameters of a Vince Carter trade.

Besides LeBron James the Cavs have nothing we want. When Rod trades his players, he likes to receive young promising players in return and the Cavs dont have that to offer. A team like Memphis would make sense because they have plenty of young players, but I assume Vince would want to play for a winner, so a team like Utah, can make a deal with us.

They could get back Gibson and anyone of their large expiring contracts. VC is better than anyone not named Lebron on that team, he'd improve the Cavs chances.

Lol at Gibson and large expiring contracts. Me and you both know that when Rod trades players the caliber of Vince Carter he usually wants a young promising player in return. The Cavs have none of that, and even though Dan Gibson is a solid player he is just a role player. The Nets want building blocks in return.
Yeah but they are also bleeding financially, its going to be either or in this case. Either they take back contracts (then they can look towards Portland, and Memphis etc) or they get rid of contracts of which Cleveland makes sense.

From a talent point of view Portland, Memphis and Utah makes more sense because they have more to offer than the Cavs. But I see what you're saying.
