All Time Nets Team, PG Break Down...
I haven't been on the best of terms with Spartanfan, but he made this elsewhere, and I think it's actually pretty cool, after chatting with him he said it would be ok to put it up, so here it is.
I know it's a bit hard, because I am not sure about how far back everyone recalls, or from when people starting rooting for the Nets.
Anyway...
Jason Kidd, 2 years, 2 Finals appearances...
Sam Cassell, 2 full years, part of another. 19.6 ppg, 8.0 asp lead Nets to 97-98 playoff appearance.
Stephon Marbury, 2 fulls seasons and part of another with the Nets although not 1 healthy season. Put up figures of 23.4/22.2/23.9 ppg with the Nets, and dished 8.7/8.4/7.6 asp for the Nets.
Micheal Ray Richardson, 3 seasons with the Nets, 2 seasons with 47/48 games (due to drug suspensions), full season did result in a playoff appearance. 20.1 ppg, 8.2 asp and 243 steals for the season.
Kenny Anderson, 5 seasons, with the Nets, only 2 where he played over 70 games. Part of an exciting, yet disappointing squad with Derrick Colemon and Petro... in 2 seasons with Nets where he played more then 70 games put up numbers of 18.8/17.6 ppg while dishing 9.6/9.4 asp.
Mookie Blaylock, 3 seasons with the Nets, in the 2 full seasons, put up stats of 14.1/13.8 ppg, 6.1/6.8 apg.
Reggie Theus, one season with the Nets, 18.6 ppg, 4.7 asp, 81 games.
Kevin Porter, 1 full season, 15.0 ppg and 10.2 asp.
Nate Archibald, one season for the Nets, 20.5 ppg, 7.5 asp.
Whom would you think is the Nets greatest all time pg?
At this moment I am weighing it. We have been blessed with nice point guards it seems.

I too would say Kidd -- there are others on that list who were great for the Nets, but none took them to the Finals two years in a row.

If Richardson didn't have drug problems he would be my choice.
I gotta go with J-Kidd.

I think it's sad what happened to him. And what is worse is out of 3 seasons, he only had 1 healthy or drug free season. But yes he was super talented. He does deserve serious consideration.
I think Kidd, Cassell (whose to say he couldn't reach the finals? How many teams did MJ and company knock off?), Richardson... don't know which way to go though.

ok, it depends, if you're basing player choice off of who was the best while on the nets, or just who was the best, if you want the best PG out of those, it's gotta be tiny archibald, only player to ever lead the league in scoring and assists for a season. But, he didn't do his best while with the nets, it was mainly with boston and the royals, so if you just want who was the best while with NJ, then it's gotta be kidd
