It seems that Deke would be the obvious candidate for odd-man-out, more so if Twin studies Kurt Thomas's game and figures out how to consistently hit the short to mid-range jumper. Other than a marquee defensive assignment, like a Shaq or TD, Deke will hurt more than help.
Assuming Zo can play, he's a boon for the other Nets Cs because he'll probably be the starter, but he won't be playing starter minutes.
I haven't decided yet whether A-Train (assuming he's healthy) or Twin would be better suited for the 2nd C role. Just because Twin was the starter doesn't mean he's better than A-Train as a back-up. As of now, A-Train is shorter, older and less healthy, but he has a better game than Twin's and he's more athletic. It helps Twin's case a lot if he can adopt Kurt Thomas's offensive game. If not, it may turn out that A-Train is still better suited as 1st C off the bench than Twin.
Twin, if nothing else, will be a valuable insurance policy.
