As the roster currently stand, it looks like Doug Overton has the best chance to stick only because Planinic doesn't look ready yet to take on a major role, and clearly, the Nets want to moderate Kidd's MPG. I think Ian Eagle got it right, when he said if DO was signed, it probably would be for a few weeks or months only - like AJ's role was expected to be while the Nets waited for Childs to come around. Overton doesn't stand out as a veteran journeyman PG in any way, but that's exactly what the Nets are looking for. I wonder why DO wasn't a Net in the first place, instead of Anthony Johnson? I imagine it's because of AJ's Sacto connection, even though DO looks like a better PG.
Damone Brown looked pretty good. Rough around the edges, but an athletic, long, wiry prospect with a clue. Didn't make his outside shots, though. Given the choice, I might keep him over Slay.
