Nice coaching Scott. Three guys swarm Vlade as he cuts to the hoop leaving Christie wide open.

Yes, it was great to have RR on fire! The Kings were always going to be tough to beat, and right now they are playing great basketball. We came up firing in the second half, even outscoring them by 19!! Twin was great too. In fact, he has stepped up offensively in the last few games. Kenyon messed up a few shots late in the game, but all is not lost. We win against Utah and the west trip is a success.

I'd love to see the following two changes on the Nets:
1) Fire Byron Scott and hire Mike Fratello. Normally I don't really like midseason coaching changes, but a) the Czar is about one million times the coach Byron will ever be and b) it's not acceptable for us to be two games under .500 16 games into the season, and especially to be 2-5 at home. It's not like Byron Scott is going to be back next year anyways.
2) Trade RJ for someone that can shoot/create their own shot. Ideally I'd like to get Ricky Davis, but I'm sure there are other guys out there that can help the Nets much more than RJ can.

I've been asking for Scott to be fired and a RJ for Davis swap for the longest. I'm not too familiar with Fratello so I don't know if he would be my first choice, but anything is better then what Scott is doing for us.

I respect your guys opinions, but Davis is basketball garbage. The guy does not play winning basketball or team basketball. Davis simply plays for himself.

Yeah, I would not want Ricky Davis. From a distance, he seems like a chemistry problem both on and off the court.

I'd rather deal with Ricky Davis' reputation (true or not, we'd find out. Losing tends to make things seem a lot worse than they are) than the Nets' problem of a frequently stagnant offense.
Talentwise, Ricky Davis is exactly what we need (that we'd reasonably be able to get), and it's very possible that playing on a winning team (which, regardless of record, the Nets are) with strong prescences in Kidd/Martin will make it so Davis won't be a problem at all.

It's not just Davis' reputation. Just watch the guy play. He is a black hole once passed to, makes selfish, horrible decisions, and is lackidasical at best on defense.
Davis is me player that only cares about himself and his stats.

I've watched him play, and last year he was very selfish at times, but he was "the man" on the worst team in the league. Nick Van Exel looked the same way on Denver, and turned into a very vital part of the Mavs once he was surrounded by more talent. And by comparison, this year he doesn't seem to be nearly as "dumb" of a player as he was last year.
As for defense? Sure, he's no stopper... but defense is often contagious. On a team where everyone else often puts max-effort on D (the Nets, obviously not the Cavs), I'm pretty sure he'll step it up a little bit more defensively. His problems on D certainly aren't physical, like they were with KVH.
Realistically, he'll never be the defender RJ is now. But I'd happily trade off some D for someone that can get their own shot off, and hit it. As we are now, really only KMart can create his own shot in the halfcourt consistantly, but he doesn't consistantly hit it. With Davis, our halfcourt offense would certainly be improved, our team outside shooting would certainly be improved, and our running game wouldn't miss a beat.

Davis has been selfish this year too and additionally very immature.
Even in NVE's early days, he had basketball intelligence. Davis just wants to ball and get his.

I don't buy the "hard working teams rub off on brat players". If that theory was true, Chris Childs would have made a difference last year.

I want that too, but if doing so means creating more problems...forget it.
