Back-Up Point Guard
Now Claxton is gone. So do u think we should re-sign Dickau? or maybe go after free agent that is still available? Damon Jones? Chris Duhon? Marko Jaric?
Who would you sign more likely?

Re: Back-Up Point Guard
Claxton isn't gone- the Magloire trade is pure speculation.

Re: Back-Up Point Guard
Yeah, like above, Claxton isn't gone officially, so they might not need a backup anyway.
Assuming Claxton won't be back, I say just re-sign Dickau. Damon Jones and Marko Jaric are going to be more expensive, so Dickau is the best option.

Re: Back-Up Point Guard
I totally disagree with just re-signing Dickau w/out exploring other backup pg options. I think the Hornets should go after Chris Duhon. The guy can play defense (something Dickau cannot do). Duhon is also a great leader, playmaker, decision maker, can hit the open 3, and will run the team when is in the game. I'm glad Dickau did as good as he did last year, but I tend to think that what he did last year was the BEST he could do and the only place to go from that is down. I think he can be a good backup pg, but I think Duhon would be a BETTER one.

Re: Back-Up Point Guard
Damon Jones would be AMAZING, but I think he would take the starting PG job and Chris Paul coming of the bench...but Chris Paul would learn a lot of him...
Anyway, I don't think Damon will join the Hornets...

Re: Back-Up Point Guard
I'll stick with Dan, he wont have any problems with the system as its fits great, and he doesn't have a big contract

Re: Back-Up Point Guard
Hmmm I wonder which one I'll pick...
Of course I went with re-sign Dan. I think Dan can do what he did last year in shared minutes with Chris Paul. My other option would have been to get Chris Duhon because of his defense. The only thing is Duhon was a starter for much of the year on a playoff team in Chicago. What makes people think that he would want to come in and backup a rookie in Chris Paul?

Re: Back-Up Point Guard
I think that they should get Dan Dickau mainly because they'd probably have to overpay to get anyone else.

Yeah, same thing with Damon Jones, Duhon and Jones would be great but would take a lot of minutes of Chris Paul away...

Re: Back-Up Point Guard
Dickau proved to be as decent backup point guard, he may not be ready to run the team as much as he was forced to last year, but I think it is our best option to resign Dickau. Duhon will be too hard to pull away from Paxson at a reasonable price, Jones would want a lot of money and may not be the best at running a team, but is a great shooter.

Re: Back-Up Point Guard
Dickau makes the most sense.
