Hawks Trade Scenario

New Orleans gets:

SF Josh Childress
PF Al Harrington

Atlanta gets:

C Jamaal Magloire
PF Jackson Vroman

Great trade for both teams. Hornets could start Paul, JR, Childress, PJ and Birdman with Harrington off the bench, not too shabby at all with a great future in the backcourt. Also, Harrington's contract is expiring, while Jamaal's has two years left and very little chance of stayin in New Orleans. Atlanta solves their woes at center, with Jamaal and Zaza backing him up. Marvin can step in and learn to play with Jamaal complementing him in the frontcourt, and Salim Stoudamire and Joe Johnson give them the best perimeter-shooting backcourt in the league. Both teams would have solid futures after this, instead of logjams at positions (BIRDMAN IS GOOD!).

Re: Hawks Trade Scenario

I like Harrington so I would definately do this trade... JUST KIDDING! I think we shouldn't even consider any trade offer that doesn't include center. I think that PJ could contribute better, if he was playing forward.

I guess we could throw in Jason Collier.

Re: Hawks Trade Scenario

Talent wise that's much better than previous offers, but again, good centers are hard to come by.

Re: Hawks Trade Scenario

No doubt Jamaal is good, but honestly his statistics are pretty weak for an all-star, so with the threat of leaving for nothing in two years, the Hornets could get an athletic starting SF on the hook for 3 more years, and the expiring contract of a 17 ppg scorer to keep building in the offseason. Birdman is ready to step in and can more than hold the fort down defensively.

Re: Hawks Trade Scenario

Chris Andersen is not a starting Center, especially in the Western Conference. He's good for 20-25 minutes of energy off the bench.

You said leave for nothing in two years....yeah, two years. There's no reason to get rid of him now, unless New Orleans wants to see if they can manage to do worse than last season.
