Hornets forward David West will miss at least the next four games while recovering from a right arm injury he sustained on Nov. 10 against the Portland Trail Blazers.
The team originally listed West's injury as a strained forearm, but last week West had an inflamed elbow and couldn't extend the fingers on his shooting hand.

West said after Monday's practice that team doctors have prohibited him from basketball drills, but he estimated being "back to normal" for the past four days. West, who visited the doctor again after Monday's team practice, said his right arm and elbow are both still sore and swollen, but he hopes to resume shooting drills over the weekend.

Four games in five days w/o the 2nd best player on the team...I don't see where we're going to get the points from unless CP goes nuts like he did in the Target Center.That seems a lot to ask.

Maybe Paul will go nuts like he did in Target Center. Hopefully someone else will step up. Scott says he's noticed something about this season's Paul....

• Something's different: After watching guard Chris Paul set a career-high in points twice in the past two weeks, Scott said he's noticed one fundamental difference in his star guard.

"He's getting to the point right now, and he didn't do this a lot last year, where he's just taking over games," Scott said. "He wanted to make sure he got everybody involved and kind of deferred to the older guys. But he's not doing that anymore.

"If he sees a game that's getting out of hand and he knows that we need a score at that particular time, he takes it upon himself to get a bucket for us. That's the biggest difference in his game this year from last year. He's carried us in some games. That's what elite players in this league do."

Paul is averaging a team-leading 19.3 points, 9.3 assists and 3.9 rebounds in 36.1 minutes per game.

Sounds like someone might be eating puppy chow in the Scott doghouse...

Does the brazilian play SG?I keep trying to think of any way we can add some depth to the backcourt,but nothing practical seems to come to mind.It would be great if we could find an upgrade over Mason somehow,but there's nothing we can afford to give up.

Only thing that seems practical is finding someone who can give us scoring off the bench and putting Bobby Jackson into the starting lineup.

Paul is doing what a great PG does, he distributes the ball, but if every great pass finishes in a CLANK, then he takes over.
