CLEVELAND:
The Cavaliers are poised to make their first move of the offseason.
The team is close to an agreement with veteran free agent guard Devin Brown, his agent Derrick Powell said Thursday. The deal, which is believed to be for one season, could be finalized as soon as today.
Brown, 29, is coming off a career season with the New Orleans Hornets in which he averaged 11.6 points, 4.3 rebounds and 2.6 assists in 56 games, 49 of them starts. At 6-foot-5 and 220 pounds, he can play both guard positions and small forward.
He started 12 games at point guard for the Hornets last season. He has also been known as a good defender during his career.
