Chandler has 'I do belong' mindset...

Good things being said about Tyson. I hope he continues to improve. As long as he remains confident and goes into the season the way he did last season, I see no reason he shouldn't continue.

A microphone in one hand, a glass of champagne in the other, Tyson Chandler stood in a tailored tuxedo and toasted a man he calls his brother.

Since 2003, Jannero Pargo had been there for Chandler, beginning in those cloudy days with the Chicago Bulls, when Pargo was overlooked and Chandler underachieved. Considered a bust by fans and media, Chandler had a target on his back; Pargo had his back.

"By having him alongside," Chandler said, "I had someone to lean on."

In the summer of 2006, both players were offered a fresh start with the Hornets. Last season, Pargo became a key reserve and Chandler blossomed into a dominant starting center.

"Tyson's one of my closest friends in the world," Pargo said. "We've developed a bond that will last far longer than basketball. Just seeing from where he came from to where he is now, you're just happy for him, proud of what he's accomplished."

In the summer of 2007, there stood Chandler at Pargo's wedding reception, telling the guests: "Jannero is like a brother to me."

"I think Tyson always had that in himself; it was just a matter of him getting his confidence," said teammate Peja Stojakovic, entering his 10th NBA season. "Now he's free to explore his talent. And he's an unbelievable guy. He works hard, a great guy to be around, and he's only 25. The sky's the limit for him. He's only going to get better."
I sure hope Peja's right. I, for one, enjoyed watching Tyson last season.
