New Orleans Hornets (7-2) @ Memphis Grizzlies (2-5)
VS.
FedEx Forum, Memphis, TN
7:00pm CST

Preview
The New Orleans Hornets closed 2006-07 by winning seven of 10 games, and while their 39-43 record didn't earn them a Western Conference playoff spot, they appear to have carried over the momentum from their late-season run.
New Orleans will try for its eighth win in 10 games to begin 2007-08 -- which would be a franchise-best start -- Friday night when it visits the Memphis Grizzlies.
The Hornets started 7-2 once before, in 2002-03, their first season in Louisiana after moving from Charlotte. This season, New Orleans is 4-1 on the road and has been winning games with a simple combination -- long-distance shooting and defense.
New Orleans is shooting 45.9 percent from the field and has been equally successful from 3-point range, making an NBA-best 45.8 percent.
The Hornets were outstanding again from long range in their most recent win, hitting 11 3-pointers for the second consecutive game in a 95-76 blowout of Philadelphia on Wednesday. Forward Morris Peterson made six of his nine 3s and finished with 27 points -- more than he'd scored in his previous four games combined.

ARRRGGHHH! I can't believe this game is going into overtime. CP with 28pts, 13asts at the end of regulation. West with about 34pts. Tyson with 12pts and 15 rebs.

Hornets win! Hornets made me nervous on this one. Juan Carlos Navarro was shooting lights out tonight. He's a good player.
Hornets 120
Grizzlies 118
West ends up with 40!

I wish I had caught this one.It looks like a real rollercoaster ride. How'd CP end up with so many TO's I know that he's gotten quite a few this year because of the other guys not receiving passes.

I remember one turnover was an offensive foul. Kyle Lowry drew a charge on him. They called him on palming once. Called him for traveling. Lost the ball out of bounds once and probably a few bad passes. It was a pretty sloppy game overall. He rolled his ankle a bit too and went into the locker room for a little while but then came back out.
Now on to Minnesota.

This would have been a really bad loss.Memphis has played better than their record, but if you're serious about the Western Conference playoffs you need to win games like this...It's not like there are a lot of easy wins in the West.
