NBA Draft 2009...

I know it's early and this season is not even over...BUT, March Madness has got me thinking ahead to the draft in June. I anticipate we will pick somewhere in the early 20's.

Who are some players yall want to draft?

Here are some guys on my radar that are realistic (no order preference):

Terrence Williams, SF Louisville
DeJuan Blair, PF Pitt
Tyler Hansbrough, PF UNC
Marcus Thornton, SG LSU
Chase Budinger SG/SF, Arizona
Tyreke Evans, SG Memphis
B.J. Mullens, C Ohio St.
Sam Young, SF Pitt
Patrick Patterson, PF Kentucky

Re: NBA Draft 2009...

The Hornets are participating in Group Workouts. They're also supposed to have Marcus Thornton come in for a workout on 6/8.

Tonight's the night. What's it gonna be? Or maybe I should say "who's" it gonna be?

Re: NBA Draft 2009...

I would like Dejuan Blair, we are desperately in need of toughness and frontcourt depth. Earl Clark if he falls we HAVE to take, hes got amazing upside, and if julian cannot prove himself then he can be shipped out to another team and we wouldnt really miss a beat.

We most certainly are. Do you think either of them will be on the board at #21?

Re: NBA Draft 2009...

With the 21st pick in the 2009 NBA Draft, the New Orleans Hornets select ...... Darren Collison.

I didn't know if they'd go big or small because they need players at multiple positions.

Re: NBA Draft 2009...

not quite how I thought things would work out, but all of the best pg's went right before our pick. I really wish we could've snagged lawson from minnesota and then drafted Blair with our pick, but one would have to assume that his acl issues are slightly more serious than we would think. That, or its being blown out of proportion just like Darell Arthur last year. One has to assume that our front office already has their plan mapped out however, because our frontcourt deficiency is pretty well documented and we simply can't go into next season with the same roster.

Re: NBA Draft 2009...

Now that the guard position is taken care of, I'm pretty sure their next moves will be for bigs.
