Hornets' Davis set to move forward

Hornets point guard Baron Davis said Tuesday he doesn't have any ill feelings about being pulled from the starting lineup and benched in the fourth quarter by Coach Tim Floyd in Sunday's loss to the Toronto Raptors.
After the game, Davis said he had some personal and family issues and didn't get up in time to attend the meeting. He also said that maybe he wasn't playing the way Floyd wanted after he missed 12 of 15 shots and finishing with a season-low six points in the Hornets' 84-76 loss at the Air Canada Centre.
"That's over with," Davis said. "That was three days ago and I expressed how I felt. Let's move on from there."
After a day filled with meetings, which included owner George Shinn addressing the team before Tuesday's practice, Davis said he is prepared to step up his leadership role for the final 19 games and playoffs.
"I need to work a little harder at practice and come prepared to play 48 minutes of hard and all-out basketball," Davis said. "All my mental preparation and focus is on (today's) game."
