The Perfect Trade

With this trade both the Hornets and Wizards will have a shot at making the playoffs for the respective conferences. The trade sends Jamal Mashburn to the Washington Wizards and Jerry Stackhouse and Jared Jeffries to the New Orleans Hornets.

The Hornets get their shooting guard, who the Wizards want to get rid of. He has about the same contract as Mashburn so that's not a big deal. They also get Jeffries to replace Mash as the starting SF. Hornets then draft Sergei Monya who could play SG or SF.

New Orleans Hornets
PG - BDiddy / Armstrong
SG - Stack / Wesley / Alexander
SF - Jeffries / Lynch / Monya
PF - PJ Brown / West
C - Magloire / Taylor

The Wizards will lose Juan Dixon in the expansion draft. Jarvis Hayes is a good backup to have for Mash incase he gets injured. Wizads end up drafting Andre Igoudala who will be there future SG/SF.

Washington Wizards
PG - Arenas / Blake
SG - Hughes / Iguodala
SF - Mashburn / Hayes
PF - Brown / Laettner
C - Haywoode / Etan

* I'd like to give credit to Hong Kong Fooey who helped me see this vision.

I dont think the Wizards would give up Jeffries since no one knows about Mash's health. Also isnt it almost positive the Jazz will draft Monya at 14.

Hey, I thought I explained the plan here. The whole idea of drafting Iduodala is as a safety net. The Wiz already have Hayes to step up at SF incase Mash gets injured. I'm sure the fans would be excited to see Iggy at SF as well. Mash is going to be the man at SF if he's healthy though, otherwise its gonna be the other two I mentioned. It also appears Wizards fans aren't too pleased with Jeffries' performance and are looking to get rid of him.

I think I heard that somewhere too. If thats the case, the Hornets could select Dorell Wright. He's even better in my opinion, and he'll probably be available at #18 for the Hornets. I didn't put much thought in the pick the first time. I chose Monya because thats who the best draft site on the internet (www.draftcity.com) had going to New Orleans.
