Better than Mark Acguire??
If you thought mark Acguire was good, guess whos gonna be better, according to Mark..SWEETNEY
"He's going to be a better player than I was," says Knicks assistant coach Mark Aguirre, himself a three-time All-Star. "I had a pretty good career, but Sweet is going to be better."
Strong stuff

Better by what measure? Better rebounder for sure, but will Sweets ever average 29 ppg? I don't think so....

I was just asking rhetorically.
But I love that these guys are getting some love and mentoring. People love to knock Isiah for not getting out of the first round in Indy - and I think even he would agree he's not the best X & O coach. But guys like Jermaine, Foster, Harrington, and Artest would all walk through a wall for the man.

Wait wait wait, Isiah agree that he's not the best at something? This I've gotta see.

How ironic coming from you, he who can't admit Layden made a single bad trade or signing (on his way from the championship to what would have been a third consecutive trip to the lottery).
Here's another example of how men with honor conduct themselves:
http://www.nypost.com/sports/knicks/33022.htm
"NY Post:
Q: Did you hate the Celtics?
Isiah:
A: Yes I did. But I respected them, and I learned a lot from them.
Q: What did you learn?
A: How to win.
Q: You hated the Lakers, too, right?
A: Most definitely. I learned a lot from them, too (laugh).
Q: Your all-time starting five?
A: Magic; Jordan; Bird; McHale; Kareem"
Notice his all-time starting 5 are all his bitter rivals? That takes honor. A cheap shot would have been to list his championship team.
And we all know yours would be: Eisley, Shandon, KVH, Lampe, Doleac, because you can't give credit to anyone outside your itty bitty little box.

It doesn't exactly take a genius to list Jordan, Magic, Bird, and Kareem on the same team, rivals or not. Yes, let's applaud Isiah for not listing himself over Magic, Dumars over Jordan, or Laimbeer over Jabbar.

He could have side stepped the question or answered Oscar, West, Erving, Baylor, Russell. Or any number of other worthy combinations.
While I like his choices you'll hardly find unanimity for them. I wouldn't expect you to be able to grasp magnanimity when it stares you in the face, but the fact that ALL his choices were his fiercest rivals is quite telling.
You just love to be petty, don't you?

Mark was a great pro, if he thinks Sweets is going to be better, you have a real keeper on your hands!
Good teams have good drafts, regardless of draft position. A great example of this is San Antonio.
