Trade for Spree?
If Isiah is actually wearing the pants in the Knicks office, now is the time to show it.
Trade both Thomas' for Spree. Toss in Ariza if they can bring Olowokandi with him.

lmao rashidi why the hell would you do this? Spree has lost his step, and his talent when on the knicks was his athleticism. This is something he does not have anymore. Kandi, while being a decent center is not worth that tradeoff, and you wanna include ariza LMAO

Throw in Marbury for Cassell and Sweetney for Ervin "No Magic" Johnson and you got yourself a deal! And while were at it, let's sign Howard Eisley!

rashidi made this topic to show that we wont trade for sprewell because Dolan would never allow it. this helps his "layden was forced to..." blah blah blah arguments.
and that trade would suck for us. Kurt thomas >>>>> Olowokandi
ariza + TT = spree

Spree also wants to be paid 14.6 million dollars for the next 3 years.
Nice joke.

What is the matter with these guys that think they're going to perform at the level of their youth as they cross into their mid and later 30's. Not even Michael Jordan could maintain his level. Spree should grow up. He seems to be fighting off age very well. 3 years for $27 million is a very decent extension for an aging guard. He shouldn't do any better elsewhere.

If you could, then I'd be near a full cap. Lots of guys would be packing their things. LOL.

not only is spree making threats,he is missing mandatory meetings and admitted to doing it on purpose and has said he will take his sweet time recovering from his injury...
Ild like to see one guy sign fr the minimum and have major incentive clauses..they want it both ways

I'm really hoping that was Rashidi's brand of sarcasm, bc I'd rather have Ariza ALONE than Spree at this point, a potential-filled youngster on the cheap instead off an aging guard who is overrating both his talent and his staying power.

That's a move that might have made sense in Layden's regime. When your starting backcourt consists of perennial all-slows like Eisley and Shandon you desperately need some skill and athleticism, and youth has no place on the team. Layden would gladly trade our two best bigs for an aged small.
But now we have Marbury, Crawford, TT and Ariza, and are thus set well enough 1 thru 3.
If Minny were smart they'd ask for TT for Spree straight-up (with Brewer for filler to make the numbers work.) Then play Wally at the 2 and TT at the 3. Wally, TT, KG is a nice little 2 thru 4 assault.
But fortunately since Isiah has worked his magic we don't have to make desperate moves constantly trading youth for age, or trading 2 for 1. Even Layden wouldn't bite on that deal, unless of course Spree were injured, that "feature" always increased Layden's interest. If he could trade KT, TT and a first round pick for an injured Spree it would have been done yesterday.
