What is so interesting about that? First off it says Isiah wouldn't have bended to Dolan's will to make those trades. Most of us always accused Layden of being spineless and this just confirms it.
Second, If you really break down Layden's record those two trades, while I disagree with both, were his better ones. They only got worse from there. So his "best" 2 deals were forced upon him. One can only wonder what would have been done if he his hand wasn't forced. If you read my sig you might suspect what I do... NOTHING would have gotten done.
I love the apologists excuses for Layden: His best trades weren't even his doing. He was too spineless to stand up to his boss. Just judge him on his bad trades.
Okay: Three first round picks and a second for Mark Jackson, verge of retirement Luc Longley, and Othella Harrington (in the process missing out on Dalembert, Parker, Arenas, and many others). Rice's short contract for 6 year inflated contracts for Eisley and Shandon that have/will result in about $50M in buyouts 3 years into the deal.
Glad you were able to post this "new" and "interesting" info.
