I think the Knicks will win but honestly the Magic are so inconsistent I don't know. If they play the way they're capable of the Magic will win.

Hey, the Knicks are just as inconsistent as the Magic. I wouldn't put it past them to make this a hard game for themselves. If the Knicks take this game seriously and play D, they should definitely win this game. Let's see which team shows up for the Knicks...

Marbury misses two clutch free throws. 97-96 Magic with 45 ticks left.

Those missed FT's were a killer. Francis goes to the line and makes two and then Marbury goes to the line and bricks two.
That and Crawford's ball hogging in the 3rd did this team in. Kurt and Tim and Sweets were all playing well, but too much shooting from Crawford in that quarter.

Marbury missed two big free throws, and had alot of costly unnecessary turnovers.
Tim Thomas had a good game, and im still mad hes not getting the minutes, he hit a huge three at the end of the game to get us back in it.
also the zone killed us. Teams have been watching tape of the raptors zone against us and every team we played since them has been playing the same 3-2 zone.
Luckily, our schedule gets easier with the Bobcats and the Baron-less New orleans squad to start our road trip.
i hear jason kidd is coming back. i hope he sucks

Forget the missed free throws. We lost the game when Orlando went zone. We need the Zone Buster H2O. When Crawford is hitting his jumpers it's nice, but when he misses it's ugly. we played a good team and gave up the game in the second half by our inability to hit open jumpers. against man to man defense our athleticism is great. Against zone defense, we're very weak. I know people are worried about how the Knicks are going to work Houston into the offense. I tell you right now. As soon as a team goes to Zone defense, we bring Houston out to bust that **** up. We also need to start showing some pride on the defensive end. Sometimes it seems we just don't care if the other team scores. It begins with pride. It ends with pride. It's a shame the team couldn't put forth much effort on either end of the court in the second half.

Why is the zone allowed in the NBA??
They come up with all these rules to make the game exciting, and then kill the game with zones??Makes no sense..
But since the NBA permits it,we have to deal with it..Hopefully its H20,but if its not,we need Wally. And Sweetney has to be in there against zones as he is by far our best offensive reboundeer

Yeah, why should team's be allowed to play defense? Let's go back to 60s.
You're just bitter because the Knicks scored 59 points playing Orlando's run and gun game, and couldn't adapt when Orlando showed it could play playoff style half-court basketball.
Hey, here's a question. If the zone is so devastating, then how come the Knicks NEVER play it? Maybe they should start, so they won't lead the league in opponent's FG%. If they do, it's certainly never as effective as the zones other teams are running.
It only kills teams that are brick layers from 5 feet and 20 feet. IE, the Knicks, who employ many sub .400 FG% players. Crawford/T/Penny/Ariza can't do anything against a zone. Crawford can't penetrate and can't shoot, T can't shoot with a hand in his face and it takes him too long to get control of the ball, Penny is sub-par from that range, and Ariza has no shot to speak of. These are the Knicks SG/SFs. The Knicks don't have a post presence to dump it into either. KT and Nazr don't intimidate anybody down low. Sweetney doesn't know how to pass out of a double, and Nazr looks absolutely SCARED and confused when he has to pass the ball back out to the perimeter.
You know why Vince Carter loves NY? NY probably uses the zone the least of all the teams in the league. Vince probably appreciates Lenny's laid back style now after having to play such a ridiculous concept like defense last year.

What I don't understand is that they went on a 16-1 run doing zone. After 6 straight points, why not throw it into the post with Sweetney because they weren't allowing penetration?

You're right Rashidi. The Knicks athleticism is almost always negated when teams switch to zone defense. If they are not able to hit their shots, the have shown a tendency to go in a shell. Hopefully when Allan gets back, his outside shooting will force teams to get out of the zone.
