marbury is a 6'2" SG.

i think today really sealed the deal, he is what he is. no more of this pass first stuff from him, just not his game, not how he plays.

knicks with best offensive output of the season, without crawford. more ball movement, they were really flowing out there. 29 team assists, tim thomas was looking like magic johnson out there.

but as for marbury, todays game showed him to be in the wade/francis mold, look for your shot first and pass second. this is just how he is going to be, best knick fans can hope is that isiah puts a good team around him and that we get lucky in the playoffs.

Interestingly enough, I just told Arenas something similar to that today.

However, I feel Marbury will win the most, when he is no longer the most talented player on his team (i.e. in his 30's).

The problem is Lenny gives JC way to long a leash, and doesnt utilise TT enough..

Assuming you guys are right,if you were coach what would you do??

Start h20?
Move JC to the point??

Reign in JC and tell him Spot up jumpers or penetrate to the hoop..no behind the back, between the legs off balance 20 footers??

Marbury quote from the Journal News

"This is me from here on out. This is the way I have to play. I have to continue to be aggressive and attack the basket to basically create for others and myself."

ive been telling him all along to drive to the hoop more instead of taking hardly any shots. while he is taking lots of shots, he still creates for others. better then when he wasnt playing as hard, just trying to get guys involved. He can draw 2-3 guys easily and can find the open man. if steph keeps playing this way, we win more games.

Yeah, it's like Isiah said, he's got to stop comparing himself to guys like Kidd and Nash and just find a way to win. No formula, just find a way.

And whatever his faults, he's still one of the better PGs in the league. Just gotta make him give the ball to Ariza on the breaks.

Oh and I agree with Fooey, we wont really go anywhere until Marbury isn't the best guy on the team.

penny,do you mean that litterally???

marbury has been deferring way too much, and until JC can control himself,or lenny can control him he has to be more selfish.

JC is a great shooter....The problem is,he is truly Jeckyl and Hyde.

Hes shoots 85% from the line and is a great spot up shooter. Not as pur as h20,but close. The problem is,he has a great handle and doesnt know what to do with it it.Its a blessing and a curse..

Lenny has to grab JC by the ear and tell him no more 18-25 footers unless he dribbles 3x or less..Its that simple

Who is the point if Marbury plays SG? It needs to be someone tall.

keep steph at point and let him play his game. thats all im saying.........drive to the hoop, dont stand around and swing the ball. Swing it to Jamal, you know a bad shots coming up. drive, create for others. get the ball to TT in the post, pick n roll with kurt. play your game man.........
