Maybe picks are involved.

Caron is a great defensive player. The Lakers have a lot of SF anyways and could use Sweetney at PF and move Odom to SF.

good trade for the lakers..makes sense..dont know if Odom is a power foward out west...

Hmmm...Ariza and Butler...TT will likely be trade this off season

As a Laker fan I'd do this trade. I've become a fan of Butler but we have too many SFs need a blue collar PF like Sweetney badly. Plus, like truth said it would allow Odom to be the natural 3 that he really is.

Jerome Williams will just take Sweetney's minute's for the rest of the season. He had 15 points against the Magic.

They have to trade Tim Thomas for a PF somehow though.

Trade TT, Baker and a 1st to Portland for Shareef Abdur-Rahim. They think SAR is a SF for some reason, but he's a PF.
